I am not sure what kind of phone you have or what kind of issues you are having. I don't have a smartphone (Samsung intensity 3) and sometimes when mine doesn't work I have to restart my phone itself and then it works, maybe try that?

 

You don't say what version of the Veloster you have...Base, Style, or Tech, or Turbo.....makes a huge difference.

 

I have a 2012 base V, nothing fancy but she's all mine!
I stopped by the dealer today to see if there is any udates to the HU and I was told I have the latest version, but they are expecting something from Hyundai anytime because of all the issues with cell phones and bluetooth. I was told I was not the only one who was having issues. A lot of iphone 5 and newer Androids were having issues, hence why they are updating the software on all the vehicles.

Again I was told I have the latest update, and here it is:
Model: LAC1720INFS
SW Ver: 5.1.43
Micon Ver: 5.3.60 (FS-USA26)
TMU: 10.03

I don't know if this is actually the latest update or what any of that means, so if someone could let me know, that would be great!

Oh, I also asked if I could upgrade to the version that has the GPS Map stuff (whatever it's called) and was told "yes, but it would call an arm and a leg because the old unit would have to swapped out with a new Head Unit. Has anyone done this?

 

I have 5.1.52 from an update last month. But, that was a Tech package update and I'm not sure if .52 extends to standard head units.

 

I have version 5.1.43, but I'm reading on other threads that people have version 7.4.5! Am I that far out of date or am I looking at something completely different? Does anyone know what the latest version SHOULD be?

Hey Bowie, have you had any issues with your BlueTooth working properly? I ask because I'm having all kinds of issues with mine, and I just upgraded my phone to Android 4.2.2.

 

I'm running Android 4.2.2 (Cyanogenmod 10.1.1 on a Samsung Galaxy Note) and have no bluetooth issues with my Veloster Tech/Style, with headunit firmware version 5.1.52

 

I have an Alcatel One Touch Fierce Android with Jellybean 4.2.2. The phone will work with BT, but if I go to play any music through the phone, the BT disconnects. It's frustrating!

 

Radio replaced last week because my paired Alcatel device would no longer connect. SW Ver. 5.1.58. TMU Ver. 10.03. Veloster 2012 Style/Tech. Everything is working very well once again.

 

Hmmmm, that's interesting. Looks like I'll need to take another trip to the dealer. This is really getting annoying!

 

5.1.43 looks to still be the latest for a non-navigation unit - the folks with the tech package have a different head unit for navigation (the version that has the GPS Map stuff, as you put it), and the version numbers are higher.

 

Fast forward to 10/8/14, is 5.1.43 still the latest?

 

Can anyone point a UK VELOSTER'er in the right direction to upgrade firmware on HEADUNIT.
