Hey everyone!

I had to join the forum to ask this question as I have not found an answer online for this issue.

I had got my battery changed and went to use the sunroof and itmade this creaking, crunching noise as it went back and it wouldn’t close properly either.
(I had used it not knowing about the reset after you change the battery) once I did kno, I did do the reset function and still no change.

Is there anyway I can fix this or am I going to have to pay big money to fix it?

I don't believe a reset has anything to do with the operation of the sunroof, nor changing the battery either.

I'd get a can of silicone spray and generously spray in all the crevasses and open area, the track, just everywhere you can spray, use the little tube to get in where you can't see.

Spread something out to protect the inside of the car, like a blanket or two. Don't worry about too much spray, it will just run out the drain as it accumulates.

Work the sunroof as you spray a little, use the whole can if necessary, the silicone is cheap and a treatment at the dealer is expensive.

This ought to take care of your problem if it's a physical thing that is causing your problem, to which I think it is.

Had this issue with mine aswell. Definitely try to lube it first, if the creaking is still there then it's probably the chain inside the motor. My chain was snapped so I had to replace the motor. It's honestly a bitch to do especially on your own.
You gotta drop the headliner and it'll take close to an hour just to get the old motor out, nevermind putting a new one in and making sure the chains line up with the other side.
I got my motor for close to $400 at the dealership, but to actually get it replaced there is around $3000. They can't even do it there, they outsource the work.

Thanks for the replies guys.. sorry for the lateness had other things going on in life other than a sunroof issue. Anyway update it’s still and issue, nothing fixed it. Dealership couldn’t tell me what is wrong without booking in and taking it apart.
But I noticed cracks on part of the tracks? Is this anything or is it normal?
