I have a ‘13 turbo that threw a poston snapped and went through my block. long story short no warranty and i want to know if i can just have a 2016 turbo engine swapped in. Would i need to change anything else while im at it?

No problems. Like Ricky-D said, Direct replacement.

You may have to change coil packs, and high pressure fuel pump, I have heard their connectors are different, but otherwise things should bolt up, the 2016 however I know has two catalytic converters, and probably some ecu changes to it, I don't know if the 2016 block will be okay with a 2013 ECU. I don't think there will be an issue, but I don't know for sure

it'll be fine. just be cognizant of a few things like velostersnail said... use the 2013 downpipe.
