I was browsing Audizine the other day and I came across a thread up upgrades on paddle shifters so I was intrigued and clicked through.

TID V2 High Performance Aluminium Paddle Shifter for AUDI DSG

Needless to say I am intrigued, now these specific ones won't work given how our paddles work but its an interesting idea regardless.

Not for $300 though
Yea, thats pricey. But for Audis that makes sense.

I'll give up aluminum/Carbon fiber construction and take regular steel or just heavy duty composites.

Makes me want to go to the shed, wrap some things in CF and give this a DIY attempt...

Paddle Shifter Mod

I'm thinking that the absolute best upgrade to any Veloster with paddle shifters would be to add a third pedal in the drivers footwell and a shifter between the driver's seat and the front passenger seat.

That's funny. People pick on that DCT, but I really l like it. Would have preferred a the 3rd pedal and different shifter option, but the Sport Mode kinda helps a little with that. I never use those paddle shifters, anyway.

I was thinking that if you're going to be a dick and contribute nothing to a thread you can literally **** your own face.

:)

I added the smile because I wouldn't want you to think I was being mean or anything.

Tiz my honest opinion on what would be the best way to get the most out of a Veloster with paddle shifters.
I haven't yet (I must admit that it COULD happen) seen ANY car that was better with two pedals than it is with three.

Maybe with a DCT, but with a VT A/T .. I don't think so:confused:. Why would anyone want to do such a mod and devalue a perfectly good, technologically advanced set-up such as this ... just so they can flex their left leg and keep their right hand busy. It makes no sense :)

Well said. Dont get me wrong i like manual cars but when it comes to a car like this i like the auto. Granted im talking from a daily driver aspect and honestly if you bought this car for otherwise you made a mistake.

Should I start listing off cars that are categorically better with paddles than with a clutch pedal? Hrm... Any Audi with an S or RS, every single BMW M model, the GTI, every supercar made since the 2000s...you get the idea.

Still doesn't excuse you from bringing in pointless bullshit to this thread. I was talking about paddles. Not about adding a clutch. Keep your cuteness out of genuine threads.

I don't think you need to list them all. Bugatti Veyron - 2 pedals. And yes this a car I could never afford w/o hitting the Powerball.

And with all the manual lag issues on this site, please explain how our Vs aren't as good as the manuals?

The only issue I honestly have with my DCT is that it isn't as fast as the S Tronic or PDK boxes from Audi and Porsche.

Having said that, those gearboxes run into the several thousands each and have equally impressive chassis and engine engineering behind them so I can forgive the V for not having back breaking gear changes.

Hmm. If you thought my little post was so erroneous, Maybe it would have been better to just to have ignored it and continued your discussion of the technologically advanced DCT paddles. I'm sure I would have just gone away since I have no interest in this subject but I kept getting notifications that you continued to talk about my comment and just had to come see. Meanwhile I did a search of this forum's threads on the DCT and am now pointing and laughing at you for getting all wound up about anything I have to say about it.

If you had no interest in the first place, why did you feel the need to troll my thread with your pointless words in the first place?

Kinda pathetic. But I'm glad you point and laugh at my ownership of the DCT, I understand that doing such a thing makes you feel like such a big man. No really, I do. Keep it up, you obviously feel a need to justify your purchase and your decision, that's totally understandable.

Now, back to the thread. I can understand paddle extensions if the paddles do not move with the wheel, I don't know what the setup is on the Audi. On our cars the paddles move with the wheel and they are always at hand. The only reason I can see for larger paddles would be keeping your hands at say 11 and 1 o'clock.
