That’s from the clockspring. Just pull it out.

The clock spring is what your buttons on your steering wheel is wired to.. This allows the steering wheel to rotate.

Be careful, that clockspring is fragile

just the sticker on it, you don't want to remove the whole clockspring.

"Flicking it out" could cause more problems than you may be willing to deal with. Tread cautiously and my suggestion would be to have a new clock spring assembly in hand before you start any operation to retrieve that tag.

At 4:00 in this video, you can see the yellow tag on the new clockspring, but notice that the old clockspring doesn't have the tag on it. I don't think the tag does anything. You should be able to remove it with a pair of needle-nose pliers. Replacing the entire clockspring isn't necessary.

There isn’t anything back there but the label and pigtail.
