Super soft gas pedal + possible boost leak?

Hello all, I recently installed the Turbosocks Fmic kit on my 2013 VT. It runs great for the most part but have been coming across some issues ever since installing it and wanted to reach out and see if I could find any answers.

To start there is a loud whistling sound coming from the BOV area when accelerating, which actually sounds like it gets quieter when hammering down on the gas pedal. I am using the HKS flange and the only thing holding the BOV into that is a snap ring. The BOV itself stays closed on acceleration and idle and I’ve checked all piping and hoses for possible leaks and haven’t found anything there. I believe it to be possibly the snap ring not seated properly causing boost to leak out from under the BOV on acceleration, please correct me if there could be other possibilities but I feel like this is a good start.

The other issue i’ve noticed since installing the FMIC is my gas pedal has become incredibly soft to the point my foot is on the floor when accelerating at times. This wasn’t an issue prior to the fmic at all. It also seems like the pedal needs to be pushed further down before beginning to accelerate at all. Could this be related to the boost leak as well?

Any help is much appreciated and thank you in advance.

On another note the car has not entered limp mode like it did the last time I had a major gash in an elbow from the hot side pipe where the car wouldn’t even go above 55 mph.

BOV - should be flange, o-ring gasket, bov, snap ring. did you miss any of these?

if you arent getting any acceleration you will need to do a boost leak test on both your new bov and the turbosocks kit.
The gas pedal is a potentiometer and is not physically connected to anything engine-wise to alternate the feel. It's your imagination working on you. 😎

I have put the flange and bov together in the correct order but i’m unsure if i was ever able to seat the snap ring correctly. the reason i believe this is because watching KDM Tuners out theirs on the car they struggled a lot more than I did not putting the snap ring on but getting it to seat into the flange with a screw driver. is there a way i could tell if it’s seated correctly? or best to just put a glove over it and ziptie to see if it will fill with air immediately to confirm this?
seal it and air it up, lol

the snap ring on the hks stuff is the worst i wish they gave more room between the flange and bov body.

so i attempted to put a glove on the bov and around the flange to see if the glove expands, no change in the glove on idle, revving, or pulling forward in my driveway. the whistle seems to only occur while actually driving down the road.

The BOV does move slightly side to side but you can’t pull it out at all.
