I cannot seem to find my keyless remote anywhere in my house, after using my car last night. I'm thinking the key is in the car, but the doors are locked. If the key was in the car, wouldn't I be able to unlock the doors by pushing the button on the handle?

How can I open it otherwise?

Thanks, it was fancy one. Unless the cat in the house ate it, it can only be in the car, or it kidnapped by aliens!

So if that key is in the car, would it set off the alarm if i tried opening the hatch with the key locked inside of the car?

i have never been able to lock the fob in the car... call someone like a locksmith to get you into the car and try to locate the fob.

With the proxy key, if you shut the door with the key inside and try to lock it the car squawks and won't lock. Also, it won't autolock if it can still detect the key. (However if you walk away with the key without locking up, it will autolock after about 5mins). Sounds like key is either in the car with a flat key battery or has been dropped somewhere between parking space and your house

Your veloster cannot lock itself with the fob inside no matter what as long as the key fob is near the car, I'd assume since the alarm went off when you tried to open it means the key fob is 100% outside the car, keep searching unless you have the bluelink on your phone to unlock your car...?😮‍💨

I would change your fobs battery asap. Hopefully it’s in your car?

Most keylease cars will blink the key light once the car is off and you open the door and remind you to take it. If the car fob is inside get a metal coat hangar and squeeze it between the window and door to push the unlock bhtton or get a slim jim from an auto parts place for $20 and pop the door. The alarm will go off but if the fob is inside you can find it and turn it off.

If the key is inside, you can turn the car on once your in and that will tell you its nearby or inside the car. If not, lrobably in your house.

If the keyless remote is not within range of the car, then pressing the button on the handle will not unlock the doors. This is a safety feature to prevent unauthorized access to the vehicle.
Another option would be to use the mobile app or website for your car's manufacturer, if it has one, to remotely unlock the car. This feature is often available for newer cars equipped with advanced technology, such as keyless entry and remote start.
If none of these options work, you may need to have the car towed to a dealership or a mechanic to have the doors unlocked and the keyless remote reprogrammed or replaced.
