Well may sound like a weird question but oh well. I wanna know what I gotta do to completely disconnect my veloster from the internet grid well just in case of well anything. I wanna make it Un traceable and un tamperable. I only plan on doing this if the need ever arises say north Korea buys China's hackers and gets into the hyundai system and starts disabling all the cars out of hatred. Or if I find government information I shouldn't have and I'm on the run and don't wanna be traced =) thanks for the help

The gov already has tons of unnecessary data about you. What's even worse, the security measures implemented to safeguard that information are negotiable between intelligence agencies and poorly guarded. If your vehicle can emit or receive a signal ur already compromised/traceable. So in other words my friend, big government knows or has the means to know evrtyn about you already..sucks, i know.

I know about the fin. But I'm looking for secret antennas. I see the car has a cell phone capability with blue link. Or is everything housed in that fin

New member here and I think it's a valid question. I would like to disable the tracker that gathers information about seatbelts and airbags. I don't want any info going anywhere or being sold to anyone now or in the future and I don't believe it only registers in the case of an accident. Any serious comments would be welcome (smartass comments welcome too as long as they are funny :)

I've looked and haven't found an answer to this. Has anyone figured out a way to disable blue link communications?

I now most think this is crazy, and I know if "Big Brother" wanted to talk me they could. I would like to disable this for 2 reasons.

1: I don't want to just give "Big Brother" my info/whereabouts. If they want to track me, they'll have to work for it

2: I'm worried that Hyundai could keep records and use them to void warranties. Does anyone know if this has happened? For instance, you blow a piston ring or have a rod knocking and they looks and see you red line it everywhere you go.

Lol, you're crazy. 1. What do you do that's so interesting that the government would feel the need to watch you and 2. Bluelink doesn't work like that. I've known people who bang off the rev limiter all day long and they had their engine replaced under warranty. Why? Because they can't prove that you bang off the rev limiter all day long.

They won't get it from Bluelink .. but it is all stored in the ECU and they can pull it via a laptop at the dealership.

Paranoid much? You're obviously just delusional.

1. Big Brother knows where you are. For multiple reasons. Do you use a debit/credit card? Do you ever use a rewards program from big box stores or your local grocer? Do you own a cell phone? Do you get on the internet? Yeah, they know where you are at all times. Welcome to America. There are two ways to avoid "Big Brother." You either need to fall completely off the grid, and if that's your goal, you're doing a horrible job since you just posted online. Or, you need to be as average as possible in the digital world. Unless you're a person of interest, Big Brother really doesn't care. You seem pretty lame to me...

2. You misunderstand how these things work. Nothing out there voids a warranty. Certain actions will lead to warranty claim denial, but you cannot void it. So, maybe read a book?

There is a proposal put out by Obama then reintroduced by Biden to acess GPS info from car manufacturers and impose a "mileage tax" based on that info. Tax would depend on miles traveled, less 2% "work mileage credit." The bill did not make it out of committee (very close -- 8 to 7 vote) due to opposition from auto associations and Repubs, but Biden chief of staff pushing it again.

Doubt they gonna succeed even if they try again since a lot of major manufacturers don't want to do this. On top of that it would be a complete mess when it comes to imported cars, probably would be more funds spent compared to gained from introducing this system.
