I didn't get bigger brakes but i put drilled rotors and the 2nd to highest tier brake pads from Autozone. I used to work long ago at Oreillys and i learned that the top tier is not really different drom the 2nd from the top tier pads except they toss in back plates but really not needed. Long as they meet OEM or better ceramic pads.

My braking distance and response improved quite a bit.

It alao helps to have good suspension to go along so the weight and force get distributed as intended and that leads to tires. The front takes the weight more so good grip tires for your weather type are going to also improve braking. Summer tires here in San Antonio mostly but all weather for further north and so on.

drilled rotors are not really needed most don't even use them for racing unless they are a stock item . blank boring rotors are the way to go! pads can make a HUGE difference however.

my non turbo didn't really feel a need for bigger brakes, but i would love to go to a slightly more aggressive setup on my turbo... for track but i would leave them the same for AX.

it should brake better!

different strokes i guess.... i don't fit cheap tires specifically though. i just haven't seen a huge need to increase the size running racing seasons.
