Yeah, I took it apart shortly after the pics were taken. Was definitely given a good tap at some point, for better or worse.

Hey guys. Sorry for the dumb question. Exactly where is the solenoid valve? Actually got the part and took it to the mechanic and he didn't find it. Pics would be appreciated if possible.

you can see it looking directly down from the back side of the timing belt engine mount, or looking directly to the right of the turbocharger from underneath.

To get it off, you unplug the cables, then slide the whole assembly towards you. There's a rubber ring around the solenoid itself that's pushed over a tab. Medium force to get it off.

Do you have a turbo model ? It would not be found on the non turbo.

I do have the turbo. It's just weird that neither I nor the mechanic can find the part on my car.

This is from underneath, to the left of the crank pulley right next to the turbo wastegate actuator.if you can’t see it, feel for and follow the vacuum lines off the turbo.

this looks like it's it, it's just pushed on backwards. I can see a vacuum line or something sticking out of here.

Also, what model year is your VT? Mine's a 2014, not sure if it's different on later models

Hey guys just wanted to give you an update. So got the part out. Turns out the previous owner cut the connection and spliced on an Audi part. I went to Hyundai for a replacement and they don't sell em. Any suggestions?

okay, well the bad news is you're going to have to re-wire whatever BS they did under that electrical tape. Likely the connector for that isn't going to fit the OEM part.

As for the OEM part, here it is: Assembly-WASTE GATE VALVE 39410-2B100 | Delray Hyundai Parts

I'm still trying to find the part that connects to it, I'll update once I find it

I went looking under the hood and found this wrapped around the wire:

Not sure how much this helps. googling the numbers or the code doesn't turn up anything

So I was able to buy the cable off of someone with a totalled Veloster. P0299 still pops up, so maybe the turbo is just bad. Or it's something else.

I did, with a new one from Hyundai.

So, to confirm:

1. When accelerating, the turbo sorta "gives out" at the top of second or third gear
2. Engine throws a new p0299 code
3. Loss of power occurs
4. Issue is resolved if you turn the car off, and then back on

Is that correct?
