    Genesis coupe owner

I own a bk1 genesis coupe 3.8 track m/t. I love the car. However, my previous car was a civic and I miss the small and light aspect. I was wondering what your guys thoughts are about trading in. And how the performance expect of the be posted turbo is

okay thanks for the info. How is the after market support? I also feel like I will miss the rwd aspect of my genesis.

As someone that went from a 4.0 Mustang to a 1.6 NAV... THEN to the new 2019 R spec... and that I also purchased new in 1981 a Civic 1500GL (yeah yeah... I know.... Get OFF my LAWN!!!!) I can say try a few different versions of the Veloster Turbo. I absolutely LOVE my new R spec. I have done a couple of VERY subtle mods (Cone filter, slightly relieved muffler [a la drilling through the baffle MOTORCYCLE style] and an "intake resonator delete"). It added subtle, easily overlooked or swapped out (warranty preservation) additions to what is already a snappy, responsive level of power.

    Good luck and HAPPY HUNTING!
    Later!

I appreciate all the responses. I think I'm gonna go test drive a couple and see what I think. I love my genesis coupe so it will be a tough decision. I don't know if I'm willing to take the power decrease. But the weight saving might make up for it.

I had a 2012 3.8 manual coupe. I loved the car. I traded it in for a truck and then recently traded the truck for a 2019 veloster turbo. I love the veloster, but it’s a different experience then the coupe was. It’s more like driving a gocart for adults. The loss of power isn’t too bad, it’s more the driving characteristics of the RWD that I miss. Being able to go a little sideways sometimes...
Go test drive one. Maybe the N would be better suited for you if the performance is the most important thing. I would have got it, but no sunroof or leather was a deal breaker for me.

Avoid anything older than 2015 I'd say, as a general rule I avoid anything older than 3 years old. I broke the rule last year, got the infamous engine exploding -13 Vel turbo, only reason I wasn't scared to get it because it had all the service records and it was driven by a rich girl for less than 3 years, plus I was in a tight spot, my previous car was falling apart and since the GTI i was eyeballing was picked up a day before, I had to find something quick.
No issues with it, other than the stock tune is terrible and sometimes it feels like there is no turbo on it, other times it remembers and takes off like a rocket, LOL!
If I was you, I'd go test drive the new '19 veloster, leave the first gen for now.

Thank you all for the advice. I still haven't gotten a chance to go test drive one yet. However, I got a muffler delete and quad exhaust tips put on and oh man does the gen coupe sound good. I am battling myself trying to figure out what I want.
