2nd Test Drive

Went on my 2nd test drive today. Last time I drove The V+ auto, this time I took The V+ manual out and was pleasantly surprised.
I found the auto to be a little laggy, the paddles would certainly take some time to get used to but I could see how much fun it would be. I'm also not to keen on The V deciding to change down gears when it wants to but it does have its reasoning for it. I'm a lazy man so I really did want to look at the auto, after all my last two cars were auto's.
But I also want to have a fair bit of fun to so I'm looking more towards the manual when it comes to The V and it was so much fun!!
I was able to get a good feel for the gear box, it's small and with the extra gear, it's not to hard to get lost in the box. The supervision cluster is great to monitor actual fuel consumption so in the drive along the freeways at between 80kph and 100kph (double demerits and double the fine this long weekend) I was really able to get the fuel down to around 5lt per 100km.
On the freeways there's a fair bit of work going on so I was able to really get a feel for cabin noise on crappy roads and it was no where near as bad as what I thought it would be, then opening it up on proper sealed road, it was smooth and quiet.
This machine is an absolute pleasure to drive, it's not fast, not at all, but it's fantastic on fuel, on looks and on feel! If you want a fast car that looks HOT then hang out for the turbo later this year, but if you're suddenly turning green and want to save some serious dollars when it comes to running costs, then this is most certainly the vehicle for you!
But be ready for a long wait, it could be anywhere from 12 weeks to 6 months before we see another shipment!!
