Im still not an expert at turbocharged engines, but im getting the hang of it and im curious. Has anyone explored the max psi for the Velosters' Turbo? Or is that still uncharted territories? Just curious.
how do you manage to get all the way up to 21 PSI without one? i've heard of the PSI hack that is occasionally mentioned here simply by bypassing a solonoid, but that is getting around 3 extra PSI normally from what ive read.
I run my BOV off of the solenoid, no Boost Hack. I really do not know how it hits 21, I just have bolt on's. I eventually plan on getting a tune, but that's going to be a few more months.
Makes sense. The Torq app is not completely accurate. You can hit 21 with the boost hack or if you have a fully gutted DP soemtimes it will boost that high. When boosting that high without a tune, you have to be careful it doesn't go into Limp mode.
I was more like WTF, where did my boos go lol. I ran a quick code scan with the Torque app and saw the limp mode and cleared it. I didn't pop a CEL though which I thought was strange.
Do you want the clean version or Rated R version?! Hahahahaha
JK- Limp mode is basically a safety mode to keep us from blowing our motors. The ECU will basically cut all boost, hence making the car feel limp. You'll basically be driving a NAV until you clear the code or reset the ECU.
...That's kinda of interesting... my V/T is basically stock (except for a homemade SRI) and i think I've hit limp mode before... my turbo felt like it wouldn't spool not matter what i did. I turned my car off and then back on and everything was back to normal... only happened once. Never had the problem again.
