Found the fix for the shift lag - Upper/Lower clutch switches. So amazing.

So, i was reading on this thread earlier today that this guy unplugged his upper and lower clutch switches after he turned on his car (because you cant start the car with the lower one being off) and it makes the car much more sensitive, the lag is gone from first to second, and it really feels like a different car. I am now looking into making a simple switch that can just hang down and i can go from on to off whenever i want. The only things that dont work when the switches are off is the cruise control and it doesnt indicate which gear to go into... big deal haha. You can always turn the switch on and everything is fine and dandy. This is pretty damn sweet i gotta say.

I still find it interesting how these new cars are coming out with all of this rediculous "over-engineering" all over the place. Why on earth does this vehicle need any switches on the clutch let alone 2? My old '98 GSR has no clutch switches and the ECU always knows what gear the car is in. My cruise control also works just fine at any speed above 30 mph... I'm glad I don't have a post May 2012 build date on my V with the brake pedal over-ride crap either!

Very interesting. I love the ingenuity that is displayed in solving these problems in the absence of complete open source tuning.

I found 2 plugs just beside the TB (on the fan side of the engine) and unplugged them just now. I tried to start my V and it took like 10 seconds to turn over and finally fire up and the tach wasn't indicating once it did. I'm guessing those are the wrong plugs as they are not connected to any switches. Needless to say I plugged them back in and made sure everything is ok. I also noticed something else, where in the BLEEP is the clutch master cylinder? Is it below the wiper cowl covering? I'm used to my Hondas/Acuras with it right below the hood against the fire wall below the wiper cowl area. Nice and simple access to bleed the fluid. I'm not liking where the V unit might be located as it seems it will be a PITA to deal with.

If you look above the clutch pedal inside the car you will see them. I will have to look again and take some pics soon and get back to you guys. You can start the car with the lower one unplugged, but once you start it you can unplug both.

I think you mean we can not start the car with the lower one unplugged. Witch is logical since it's the ignition lock switch.

I just came back from doing multiple tests. It seems the clutch switch (top one) changes the way the engine behaves. The ignition lock switch (bottom one) doesn't change anything whether it's plugged or not while driving/shifting.

What I felt different, is the way the shifts are more brutal, less fluid and boring. Now, with the clutch switch disconnected only, shifts feel harder, a bit more challenging AND, funny thing, my engine to gargles a lot more when releasing the gas pedal. (my NA V has no muffler)

Drawbacks: cruise doesn't work. (I use it allll the time) and shift indicator doesn't appear anymore. (IMO it's a good thing)

Conclusion of my experience, bottom switch (ignition lock switch) doesn't change anything to the engine behavior on the contrary, the clutch switch changes things a bit.

Performance wise, I felt the shift from 1st to 2nd a little little little bit faster on power once shifted and the engine seemed to rev at 4,250-4,300rpm when shifting 1st gear between 6,500-6,750rpm instead of 4,100rpm MAX when clutch switch is connected.

Voila. Hope it helped a few. And sorry for the pour picture quality above, it seems the AG app or the forum doesn't allow me to post picture with full quality.

I love your idea of making and ON/OFF switch. If you do so, please post a DIY.

Imagine the switch OFF and some urethane bushing for the motor mount. Mmmm! Little race car feel. Those two thing should go along very well together. I think I might buy it and make the switch for my V.

Just bought the switches, the heat shrink, and 20 gauge wiring. I'll post pictures when I'm finished with it in a few days

Just tested revving the motor in neutral comparing with clutch switch connected and not.

HUGE difference! Connected, the revs go up and down smoothly like an economy car should.

Disconnected, it snaps up and down. The engine gargles all the way down regardless of the revs.

    Love it.

For people who want to prove this for themselves, rev in neutral clutch in and then do the same with the clutch pressed in. You will see the difference
