Looking for some feed back from the NAV crowd. We have shop cars ready, DCT and Manual trans. What I need to see, is a post showing us what you want to see, and if you want us to get a solid tune put together for you.
Post what mods you would like to see, and post if you would like to see a tune ready for your NAV.
I have heard from a few, that they would like a tune. So, I am asking the community "how many of you would like a tune".
I have been tuning the KIA and Hyundai cars for 3 years now. I am very comfortable with the ECU and have extensive map indexes for proper tuning. We should be able to offer a few items that no one else can offer (launch control, flat-foot shift, gear indicator that shows the gear you are in, not the recommended gear, ect). Idle increases, header/cat removal code, and so on.
You let me know what you want, and I will do everything I can to offer it to the community.
I plan to have a tune at some point. I want to get a header, the NST pulleys, and redo the exhaust first though. What kind of cost would be involved in this? I like the things you've touched on. I'm not sure what else would be wanted. The only other thing that I personally would want, would be app control over tire size to keep the computer accurate when switching from summers to winters, etc. Maybe the ability to turn on and off the gear indicator as well as what gear in, or should be going to but based on rpm like a shift light as opposed to best fuel economy. I know app control is highly unlikely though.
I am thinking $400 for a bench flash tune, $600 for a full dyno tune. App control for tire switching, that is going to be tough. We are working on the gear indicator right now. I want it to show the gear you are in, not show when you should be shifting.
way easier just to run the correct tire diameter on the car really.
on my VT i run a 16 inch winter wheel and tire that is the same outer diameter as my 17 inch summer and racing wheels. all my wheels are the same diameter. when i put the coilovers on in the summer i can run any of the 3 sets of wheels i have with no issues or rubbing.
Reflashing the ecm would be an easy way to do it. And then you're far more accurate. You can put in the actual revs/mile of each tire. I'd just get it done at the dealer everytime I switch over but I'm cheap and don't wanna pay for it. My 3 sets are close, but not perfect. 215/45-17 oem, 225/45-17 summers, 205/55-16 winters.
I would love a tune? There isn't really much out there besides BTR and I've been searching for other options. Would you guys be able to do it on a seperate ECU? Can't afford to lose warranty.
I just purchased a 2012 NAV 6MT and I would love a good tune for this thing. I've already purchased a CAI and exhaust. I also plan on doing a bigger Elantra throttle body mod if it will be compatible with this tune. I'm still trying to get used to the limits of modding this thing. My last car was an Audi A4 turbo that I built crazy fast but it got totaled and I got this Veloster. I'm hoping to make it a little bit better performance wise but I know I'm limited since it's a non turbo. I really like the gear indicator idea as I never shift when this thing recommends it. If anyone has any advice on additional mods that are possible to this thing please let me know, I'm willing and able to try anything that won't blow it up.
I would be interested in seeing performance options for the NAV, but most notably, aftermarket support for the dual clutch transmission clutches. The DCT model has a slightly detuned engine because of reliability issues with the DCT. Does this mean the DCT clutches can't hold the power? If they can, do they wear out too quickly with the engine at full tune? I would like to see and know if these things can be replaced with better, stronger versions that will last the lifetime of the car under actual daily driving conditions. Once the matter of making the transmission hold power reliably is established, then I would be interested in seeing what can be squeezed out of the Gamma.
I would love something to give my car a little extra pick up and maybe a tad higher idle so my rev 65a mounts don't make it feel like a bumblebee is trying to fly up my but. I have an 12 NAV AT.
Yeah I think it's a bit late. 😂🤷🏼♂️
Besides nobody does tunes for the Accent.
Funny that the ecu's are so similar with only a hand full of wires extra for the turbo ecu.
NAV wiring should be similar I would think.
Oh well. 😞
