I assume you're driving the DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission).
If so, you don't have a problem. It is supposed to make a sound.
If you'd like proof for yourself, refer to the Owners Manual in the "transmission" section.
If by automatic, you meant a regular slush-box, I'm sorry I couldn't answer for what you needed.
I read through the manual and other paperwork one day ... I read that, specifically on the DCT, a sound will be heard (click) while downshifting.
It is not a noise that is produced by something breaking or not working correctly, it is simply the transmission shifting.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure regular automatics don't make an audible click while going into gear, just DCTs ...
Maybe you and the OP have different problems ...
How would you describe your clicking noise?
Only when downshifting? Isolated on the drivers side? How many clicks, or just one?

Think I'm going to head to the dealer today, after much reading I'm going to get the axle nuts checked, let them look at it.
