Not all regions factor performance or horsepower into insurance, in MA it couldn't matter a bit if it was a Veloster or Turbo Veloster in insurance, there will be a slight difference in cost for the Comprehensive Fire and Theft section, but the car itself is not important to the rates, it's the driver that makes the difference.

Here in Ontario it's about claim rates for the vehicle in question and the region in question. The more likely a vehicle is to have a claim (collision, theft, etc.) based on its drivers (younger crowd, for ex.) and location (potential for crime and collision based on history), the high the premiums will be.

I had a Cobalt SS Turbo that cost less to insure than a base Civic because so few people crashed the things.

Interesting factoid, it's not legal in MA to vary the rate by age, so the magic phrase is "driver with under 6 years driving experience"

No one said you can't usa A DUAL CLUTCH with a turbo, just that Hyundai's current DUAL CLUTCH won't handle it. Which is why if you read your WIKI article, VW has 2 Dual Clutch Transmissions; one with a dry clutch which will handle up to 180 LBS of torque, the 2nd with a wet clutch will handle up to 210 LBS of torque.

At the start of 2008, another world first, an additional 70 kg (150 lb) seven-speed DSG transaxle (Volkswagen Group internal code: DQ200, parts code prefix: 0AM) became available. It differs from the six-speed DSG, in that uses two single-plate dry clutches (of similar diameter). This seven-speed DSG is used in smaller front-wheel-drive cars with smaller displacement engines with lower torque outputs, such as the latest Volkswagen Golf, Volkswagen Polo Mk5, and the new SEAT Ibiza, due to it having a maximum torque handling capacity of 250 N·m (180 lb·ft).
BTW - who on a Veloster forum cares about your VW? Anyone??

I know it has been stated, but always, and I mean always know this

Under the Magnuson-Moss Act, a dealer must prove, not just vocalize, that aftermarket equipment caused the need for repairs before it can deny warranty coverage. If the dealer cannot prove such a claim — or it proffers a questionable explanation — it is your legal right to demand compliance with the warranty. The Federal Trade Commission administers the Magnuson-Moss Act and monitors compliance with warranty law.
If they give you crap, and cannot prove it, they are in the wrong; take it to the next step.

Will installing a turbo/supercharger on my car void the warrenty? (Same goes for anything you put on your car, IE Intake, Exhaust etc)
    • only if said product caused the engine damage and it has to be proven that it did beyond a resonable doubt.

also note thatany modification of emission systems will get you in hot water with states that require smog and or emission checks. Your vehicle will not pass, and you will be forced to repair said failed sections to get it to pass inspection.
    • Headers (Which always require removal of primary cats)
    • cat back exhausts where the cat usually is replaces with a test (Racing) pipe installed to allow more air flow.
Just an FYI to anyone who is new to modfiying of their vehicle.

Now to finish what was started I recieved email from hyundai today. The only way it will be voided is if you do anything to the car. That causes a repair order that was done by mods that you have done.
