Dealer replacing transmission on Veloster

I reported this before. I had issue with my Veloster, I have 15K miles and I noticed grinding noise when going on automatic from 1st do 2nd gear. It would happen when I would slow down, almost come to a complete stop but then accelerate at speed around 5mph. Took it to dealer today and after I took technician for a ride, he ran few updates and did few phone calls to Hyundai Tech department they agreed to change the whole transmission, it's coming in 3 days. If you have similar issues take it to them right away but also make a call to Hyundai and open the case so they see you are serious + because so many people did before me they knew the issue right away and did not have to BS me!

I don't think they know, seems like manufacture's error because many Velosters have similar transmission issues between 1st and 2nd gear, maybe the new ones are better, don't know...

i always thought the trans was tried and true in the accent? is this no longer the case?

most problems i see at the local dealer are DCT related never seen an auto or manual in for service.

Engine is from Accent but transmission in Veloster is completely new, technician explained to me it's like manual operated by automatic...

My torque converter (non DCT) turbo has paddle shifters

it's automatic with paddle shift, they should install it on Friday so I let you know...

Ahh I am sorry. I was referring to the auto without paddle shifters.

had mine replaced at just over 13k...exactly the same issue!

Driving this new transmission for few days now, seems fine, no grinding sounds anymore, hope it will stay like this!!

Mine does the same, did it from mile 1. Good to know they know about it, might take it in. Only time I hate my car is the 2-3 seconds it clunks around until I hit 10mph
