Class Action Suit Against Hyundai filed November 4

Do NOT accept the mileage reimbursement! If you already did, most likely you've settled your claim!

Darn, so much for returning the car and getting a turbo

It's funny that Hyundai/KIA is trying to make things right YET, Americans still want to sue.

Personally I think its a little excessive to join in a Class Action Suit... I'm entitled to $87.96 due to the fact my car was purchased this July and my mileage is low (most people will be receiving much more)... How much more do people think they'll get from Hyundai with a suit? How long will it take (years) before its settled?

I truly believe in the honor system and I'm extremely proud of Hyundai and how they came clean and found a solution to resolved this, they realized they made an error (unintentional or not) and quickly reached out to its customers for pardon, forgiveness and to offer compensation for the minimal financial affect it will have on our cars and most of us (I mean seriously, it probably cost us an extra $0.20 at the pump/per tank fill-up.. And all this was done with quick ease (I'm suppose to get my reimbursement card in a couple weeks). Easy!

Sue if you must but we all love our V's we all believe in the astronomical progress and technological advances that Hyundai has made over the past few years... Do we really need to go out of our way to tarnish a company we have all invested in for a measly few extra dollars..

This guy doesn't think so... I'm proud to own a Hyundai, I love my Hyundai and I stand behind the courage they had to come clean, they're thoughtfulness regarding the situation and their gratitude for which most companies would have done nothing.

    Agreed.

I've had some crazy oil leak issues with my VT two days after I purchased... they got fixed but my concerns about having a rear main seal oil leak were addressed to hyundai corporate and they're actually replacing my VT with an exact same model. (should get it this week). No charge on the miles I put on the one I originally bought. I doubt other MFGs would have done the same.

I for one don't mind if my VT is off by a few miles... its still gets great gas milage for the type of car it is. And the lifetime reimbursement is a nice way for hyundai to make up for it.

I can't think of a more foolish approach than to think this is worthy of a class action suite.
There is only 1 group that comes out ahead, the lawyers.

The class action status is designed for a reason, and a bunch of folks that get 2mpg less in a car is not a reason to use it.

Accepting the mpg reimbursement from Hyundai DOES NOT affect your rights of collecting on the class action lawsuit. Our cars lost close to $1000 in value overnight and this is likely going to be the basis of damages on the class-action side of things. However, in order to collect any class action payout, we will have to sign away any rights to further litigations.

$88 since July? I've driven 15,000 miles over a year period and was quoted a $66 refund. I'm sure you can see why I'm pissed

The price is adjusted to the cost of gas in each area, most likely the cost of gas in your area is cheaper.

I have driven 7600 km since purchase (Sept. 13) - 90% highway driving. I just got a quote from them for $33.23 as reimbursement.
I'm not sure if that's good or bad...

The MT's only get half the reimbursement of the DCT V's. The MT only has a 1 mpg difference (combined mileage) vs 2 mpg for the DCT.

    Over.....? What, exactly?

Were you "Pissed" before you heard of the "settlement"? If so, I can understand (somewhat) still being-so. However, one should be "less Pissed", if only slightly, once one decides to take the offered monetary-recompensation.

Or is that the root of the matter?

Perhaps a trade-in for a Honda or Toyota is in-order if one is sufficiently "Pissed" over mileage that falls-within a given reported estimated-range on each and every window-sticker on each and every car affected under this campaign.

I have driven 18,000 miles since purchasing the BluMeanie this April, and I discovered my "offer" is $71.00. (you can keep it, Hyundai. Seriously)

I'm considering filing a Class-Action Lawsuit against Hyundai claiming SO much Pain and Suffering over this Distressing Revelation, that they should buy-back my NA/V, GIVE me a V/T (clear and free - including applicable TTL, Service fees, and a Petrol stipend), PAY my salary for the duration of my ownership, and perhaps fly me to Korea so I may personally slap the CEO of Hyundai/Kia across the face until my arm tires of the effort.

    Who is with me?

    (Line forms to the Left....)

    I believe its actually Nov 3rd 2012... not 2011.

You should be included in this... I would check again on their website, enter your VIN and you should get some info

It's a US Class action, you're not eligible in CA, and the Nov 3rd date floating around as far as the Debit card reimbursement is Nov 3rd 2012. You can't use the US sites for checking eligibility, you need to use the CA one.

And it's still going to be a nothing case, there are no damages to sue for.
