Can you believe all this crying over 1-2 mpg? Mental depression problems? You purchased the V for its looks the good mpg was a bonus. They are paying you back the diff in gas price. Get over it, get a life, a girlfriend or a dog. Go for a walk, fresh air ,take a valium. Worse case , trade your V in on a YUGO. Gotta go now,dog needs to go out..
It's ridiculous. It's completely ridiculous actually. I'm borderline appalled by it. And while I'm generally not very close to the quoted mixed mileage I know it's just my driving habits and conditions. The quoted MPG's are quite attainable though. Let off the throttle a bit. Not hard.
Take the reimbursement the company offered up ON THEIR OWN and shut up. Most companies won't even do that without being raked over the coals by lawyers. Hyundai "manned up" on their own and people still want to burn them at the stake...over MPG's being off by what equates to pennies per tank. I'm all for keeping mega-corps that I think are truly evil entities in check, but come on guys.
Ever hear of the ford Pinto? Anyone burn alive in their Veloster lately? If that were the case, let's sue some people and hang some execs. You lost a couple bucks at the pump that Hyundai is going to pay you for.
Man we're a bunch of babies with entitlement issues these days.

Went to Clermont, FL this weekend and that added a little bit extra miles to my car and just did the reimbursement and I'm getting back $223.71 with 26,030 miles.
I'm spending my reimbursement on lap dances and watered down drinks.

You sir are a better man than I.

Ford Hybrids Not Achieving EPA MPG Ratings: Report | AutoGuide.com News

I agree. I mean I'm happy to take the reimbursement, but I would not have pursued them for anything. It really doesn't even bother me that much. I came from a Lincoln Suv getting about 15 mpg, so I'm LOVING the mpg in my V. I bought my V partially for the great gas mileage, but mainly for the looks and the fun I knew I could have in it.
I think Hyundai did the right thing in offering the reimbursement, and we should just take it and be happy with it. People are just too sue happy and looking to make a buck these days....

So what are you doing AIRICS?
I drive a 2012 V that is loaded w/ amenities and I love it and can not say enough good things about it.
I have to pipe up here, here again people need to take responsibility for their own actions; yes, this applies to driving habits also. The posted MPG ratings are estimates and a range and always has been for as long as I remember, ( and I've been driving for 42 years ) and I don't believe I have ever seen a guarantee with these MPG ratings?
I have always achieved better gas mileage than the ratings; even on my current 2003 4runner that has a v8, first thing is high grade & non-ethanol gas. This adds a min. 10% for me on both my vehicles. I drive 2 lane roads a lot and last night I averaged 46 MP on my V, driving around 58 avg. no wind at all. I must be very lucky or could it be; just conscious about my driving habits.
Just jumping in on the anti class action side. I've had my V since April and have 15k miles on it. 50+ miles per day commuting through Twin Cities rush hour traffic. I'm getting 31-33 mpg regularly. Get 35+ on highway trips usually going 70+ mph. Traded in a 2003 Mazda Protege, which was lucky to be north of 30 mpg. I'm happy with the car, have added an Injen SRI, and will likely mod the exhaust at some point (may hint at my driving style...). If I wanted to, I could get better mileage by accelerating more slowly, and forgoing the opportunities to drop it into 4th (sometimes 3rd) to pass slow traffic. But I don't want to, so I'm not going to complain about less than optimum mileage.
I love hyundai so much that im going to sue them and with that money buy another veloster (:
