I agree with Drews but if you're dead set on modifying your car, you should stick to suspension mods like coilovers, bracing and a good set of tires. Mods to improve your acceleration are close to pointless.

Depends what you mean. Modifying for performance, aesthetics or both? I like doing aesthetic changes, but I'm not really into performance stuff. I figured Hyundai did a good enough job making the car fun to drive, I don't need to get into trouble lol.

If you want ideas, this is my mod list. I've tinted all windows (well, save the windshield lol) 35% ($200), debadged ($0), blacked out the rear Hyundai logo ($5), darkened the tails with niteshade ($5), had the headlights and fog lights opened up and painted to black out the chrome ($380), had red devil eyes installed ($0), painted the rear reflector and front fog black surrounds body color ($250), deleted the rear wiper ($2), did a 6000k HID conversion on the headlights and tail lights (but don't do that unless you get projectors) ($600), plastidipped the exterior B pillar trim (I hated leaving finger prints all over it) ($0), installed a Redline Goods leather shiftboot ($50), had a remote start installed ($460) and got Eibach pro-kit springs ($220).

My next purchases planned are a mesh grille ($425), vented rear diffuser ($625), customized steering wheel ($550), possibly hydrodipping some interior parts if I can find a good replica of BMW's ash wood laminate ($??), ventvisors ($80), devil claws ($95), possibly a Sequence spoiler (can't make my mind up about that one) ($235) then I'll consider my aesthetics complete. (Until I find some other nifty thing I didn't know exists lol)

*shrug* I just went by what I paid for the stuff I already did and for the stuff I plan to do, it was mostly prices from SoCal Garage Works.

lol that bad huh? I didn't really shop around. That carbon diffuser looks real nice though, I think I'm gonna get in on that regardless of the price. I just wish it came in regular black plastic, I'm not crazy about CF.

Anyway, sorry to ramble in your thread OP

Ignore that haters. I've had issues with most vendors - Pierce, Sixth Element, Tippett, So Cal, 845, Damn Fast DD, Turbosocks and all were resolved. Others have reported issues with the likes of BTR, SFR etc. Apart from one really bad vendor, most are pretty good however the wait can sometimes be very frustrating.

So you'd rather have an inferior material so it would be black? It's called paint, you should use it.

Yes, because if it was ABS or something it wouldn't be six freaking hundred bucks.

I had no qualms dropping six hundred on HID, cheap is not me lol. There is a difference between being cheap and being practical. The stock plastic diffuser seems plenty durable so I don't think wishing for a similar quality piece at less cost is cheap. Cheap would be cutting springs to avoid spending money on the Eibachs heh.

Well you could always buy another Valance panel (866122V521) new cost somewhere between $US210 - $US290, cut out the holes, paint it black and attach mesh.

Yep. But not as bad as cutting springs. The guy I sold my 7 series to did that; I feel bad for the poor car lol.

Meh, I'm lazy I'd rather just buy the carbon one and paint it heh.

Hi, just closed my deal today and am thinking I would only do aesthetics as well. Can you give more details on everything you have done? Any pics or links to that type of mod would be appreciated. How does tinting work again, the percentage is how dark from black? What is usually dark enough for some privacy but not going to get you in trouble with the law?

I bought the Re:MIX because I hated the look of the regular models (and I hate non-projector headlights), and couldn't find a Turbo model nearby that I wanted to pay for.

You sound young. Just keep it classy. They're as cheap as an old Honda Civic; don't 'rice' it out.

Well, there are tons and tons of people on here probably better suited to talk modifications than I heh. As far as the tint, the percentage value is percent of light that makes it through the tint. I think 35% is a nice balance between not pissing off the cops and having a nice look. It's not much for privacy, at least not on a bright sunny day. Here is an example of my Llumar 35%: Pic 1, pic 2 (My BMW in the pics is also Llumar 35%). For my HID conversion, I didn't think to take good pictures so I just snapped quick in an alley. Halogens vs HID. Debadging (removing badges/logos from the car) costs only some elbow grease and maybe some WD-40 to clean glue residue, lol. Painting the fog light surround piece and rear reflector surround piece makes it look much better in my opinion. Niteshade and Plastidip are cheap and I like the darkened look. I blacked out the Hyundai logo with Plastidip and darkened the tails with Niteshade - photo. Nice thing is it still allows the brakes to be visible very well. Alas, the reverse lights though have trouble shining through so when I'm in a dark area the reverse cam is nearly useless. I ordered 410 lumen reverse LEDs, can't wait till they get here so I can see if it helps. This photo shows the drop given by the Eibach pro kit springs and it shows the "devil eyes". Devil eyes are lights that illuminate the projector when its off. Very illegal in my state, so only of use off road lol. My fog lights are out of state right now being painted like the headlights, ergo the electric tape fog light hole covers lol. Oh yea, painted headlights. That was a pretty cool mod, I really liked the result of that. I paid a guy in Connecticut $280 to open them up and paint all the chrome black. I had him also black out the corner light and the halo ring. I think that about covers all the mods I have. There are way more wildly modded rides than mine, mine is simple so maybe some of those people will chime in.

I concur.... I rather be glued to the assphalt out here in West Texas.... The base speed limit here is from 75 to 85 mph... That includes Big Ass Frac Trucks and those drivers have no sense of what is the limit.... At my ripe age of 53, been fast before and now it's time to just lay low under radar and look as sleek as possible..... Besides, my 13' NAV base has enuff speed for me.....
