What are those really neat "little" bits that you just love on the V?

OK so I've done a heap of research, watching various YouTube clips and read many, many reviews. I'm still in the process of ordering my Black V so it'll take ages before it even gets here but I want to know from those who already have one, what are those little bits that just make you smile or go "Whoa"?

I know all the cars are very different in various countries, here in Australia we get the tyre pressure notifications but I've noticed that in other countries there's seat warmers, steering wheel warmers, auto rain sensing wipers, alarms etc.

    So what have you got?

Hmm... It's more of what we don't have and what I want to mod going forward... Off the top of my head I want the KDM/EDM projector headlight assemblies, the LED brake light assemblies... Actually, the jury is still out on this one. I kinda like what we have on the NA spec Vs... and finally the side mirrors with LED directional indicators.

One nice thing we have in the U.S. is XM satellite radio. It's nice to have channels you can listen to no matter where you are in the country. The XM Data (e.g. stocks, weather) is useful but I do have Siri (on my iPhone 4s) to ask for such information and can communicate with her via the V's Bluetooth feature.

OK, now on to features we all have in common... I like having the water bottle holders in the doors... and despite the large amount of hard plastic in the V's cabin, Hyundai has done a nice job in using textures to enrich the appearance... Many manufacturers continue to resort to the "leather-texture" surface, which is so mediocre these days.

I really like the V's center-console design. It's ergonomically efficient to use and you don't have to second guess the functions like you have to do on, say, a Mercedes-Benz.

The panoramic sunroof... I love how the cover retracts electrically and smoothly... And this is a feature in, for all intents and purposes, a econo-box?! Albeit a damn-good looking one. Indeed, I'm looking forward to applying Rain-X on all the glass (when it finally gets above 40F)... It should keep the passengers entertained, watching the water droplets bead and slide away in the slipstream.

With the split-folding rear seats down, there is so much room for your stuff (mountain-bike anyone?)! And even with the seats up, the existing cargo area is nicely proportioned, with the (optional) cargo-net handy for the odd bag of groceries... I'm also pleased the (optional) cargo-mat includes seat back protectors, although the surface will get scratched, marred and otherwise look "messy", it serves its intended purpose.

I'm sure I'm missing all kinds of niceties of the V, but these are what come to mind at the moment.

hahaha true! here in Costa Rica we have the V at $28.500 OTD, we don't have bluelink or cruise control, but do have leather seats, and automatic retractible side view mirrors.

    • The seats are SO COMFORTABLE! Today so many cars have super hard seats. These are soft yet supportive- Perfection!
    • Pushbutton start right in the center console- super easy to find
    • Panoramic moonroof- It's really the hatch glass that creates the panorama as it goes over the back seat. The actual moonroof could be improved if the antenna fin was somewhere else so the window could open all the way. Love that it's all powered
    • XM radio is nice in the states. Expensive long term, though
    • Keyless entry and start. Now just to get that for my house!
    • Backup camera- how did we ever live without them?
    • Bluetooth on base- still a rarity at this price point and so convenient and safe
    • The red-black seats and doors on the red or black exteriors
    • Auto-headlights (never had them before, so easy)
    • Huge LCD and good navi system
    • The attention it gets
In the US we did not get some of the cool stuff I would have been willing to pay extra for- heated steering wheel, projector+LED headlights, turn signal side mirrors, chrome exterior handles, auto-sensing wipers

Ditto hahahaha, carbon-coated rear, nothing looks sexier. I love the amount of cupholders in it for real though. Love seeing my headlights pulling up behind a car too. Also the roof of glass, nobody even believes me until they're up close lol

I love the little driver's seatbelt holder that swings up and down. It positions the seatbelt perfectly for me and swings out of the way whenever it would be in the way.

I like the third door for the dog, I'm not a sedan type person. Large cargo area. Remote start & keyless entry are nice but the surprise like item for me is the backup camera.

I have to agree with most of the items posted above, but I think the parts I like the most are the Bluetooth with the voice-commands, the ease to play your own music through phone or USB stick... and the last thing, which is a minor thing in the overall features of the car - as someone who is anal about using their turn signals is the "easy lane change assist" where it does the few blinks just moving the stalk a little instead of having to fully turn it on (this was something that was new to me on my '11 Elantra).

Actually it's funny you say that because when we looked at the V, the wife and I were both thinking of where our Doberman is going to go. We've got some great seat blankets for him plus he wears Ruff Wear booties so no scratching the leather!

Hey fellas, how are you finding the tyre pressure monitoring system? I can't find a lot of detail on it yet.

The rear view with the rear parking sensor dots is what got me sold. After blacking out the front bumper the front looks just as good as the rear now.
