    Angry No More Yellow Velosters???

I am in search of a yellow veloster with a 6speed and tech package. According to my local dealer there are NONE in the country and there are NONE showing up as yellow on incoming reports from Hyundai. Is this true? Did Hyundai stop making yellow Velosters???

If anyone knows where a yellow tech 6spd veloster is, please let me know!

    It's just a supply problem I bet
Demand is higher than production still
There are going to be shortages and long waits for some things
I don't think that translates to certain things are no longer going to be made

A PICTURE BELONGS HERE, PLEASE LET ME HAVE THAT, PLEASE...

I'm at another dealer in KC and they pulled up this car as the closest one but they say about $500 to ship it to KC. Do you know if it's truly still available.?

There DB says its available, website says its available. I don't personally know 100%. It's 10 minutes from my work...but the wrong way. You could call and check?

$500 is cheap to freight a car. If its what you want, then it may be worth it. You'll probably pay a lot for it though...they aren't gonna cut you a deal on the only yellow loaded one in this part of the country.

There were a few that I found in a recent search. It's orange that seems to be much more rare.

I'm close to closing on the one in Schaumburg, IL. Did anyone here happen to test drive it and could give me a report?

I'm fairly confident that it's fine -- Patrick Hyundai has an A+ rating with BBB. But it would nice to hear from someone who actually saw it.

Thanks in advance and good luck for those looking for a Yellow/manual/style/tech Veloster. They don't seem to exist.

When looking for my Red/Red+Black/Tech combo, my dealer was telling me the same thing, that there were none in the country and they had none on the radar coming in. But I was able to find several from Cars.com and Autotrader.com that were available when I called the dealerships (you have to actually call, since those sites tend to lag).

So I can only assume it is just the dealership wanting you to buy from them and not another dealership out of state, but when I was told there were none in the country, that just meant there were none nearby available for dealer trade...

    Good luck!

I have found it both ways where cars.com list a car and when you contact the dealership their response is "we don't have one but we can find one for you."

While this isn't a lie from the dealer, it's not exactly the truth either. There's an open end on when exactly you get your car. Don't let them tell you that they expect one soon. They really have no idea. They get what's allotted to them.

What they want you to do is put a deposit on your setup of choice, then have you wait for however long it takes before one shows up in an upcoming allotment for the region. With most models, they can "trade" with other dealerships in the region. They get credit for the sale. But it gets complicated with a high-demand, short-supply model like the Veloster.

From what two different dealers in my area have told me, some dealers will refuse to trade their allotment, unless they get the same model, but with an upgraded package. Some won't trade Velosters at all. And who could blame them?

One dealer told me that they've been installing "an addendum" (so he called it) to the price because of the demand.

The good news for the consumer is, we have the Internet as a weapon.

My theory is this. There are yellow Velosters with style/tech packages out there, but you're not competing with the average customer who shows up to the lot and buys whatever model/car they have. You're competing with the Internet saavy, borderline obsessed customer who calls all his local dealerships every other day to see what allotment they have coming up, puts his deposit down on one and it's never even seen in the available pool that you see on cars.com or autotrader.com or even the dealership's own website -- thus giving the appearance that there aren't any being produced. They are being produced, you just won't see them.

There's also an even more dangerous competitor against you. I know of two local Hyundai salespeople who are driving loaded Velosters (one yellow).

Talk about having the upper hand on the available supply.
