I just found out that my key does not actually release the latch on the hatch it only unlocks it. what is the point. My honda accord actualy released the latch!
Ya, I'm not sure what the point of the 3rd hatch button on the keyfob is as hitting the unlock twice will let you open the hatch when you grab the handle.
I can see the feature being nice if you haven't reprogrammed your fob to unlock everything with the unlock button in one touch. (If you want to know how to do this read your owners manual).
If you hit that and open the hatch then shut it again it automatically locks. Just another lazy mans world issue we are creating I think.... But hey what do I rely know.
might be a safety issue? i notice that hatches usually just unlock and not lift up. i had two now (civic, pro5) and both do the same thing. hatches are heavier than a trunk so probably that's the reason.
I have a 2014 Hyundai Veloster which I had an issue with my trunk not opening. The fob NEVER worked so I had to do it manually; fine! Now it's about two years that I have my car n the button from under the lift is not working any longer. The only other way to get into ur trunk is if u pull down the back seats. Not everyone can climb in there for various reasons. So why didn't the tech(the designer) not add another way of getting the trunk opened. Here's my problem l had to take my car to the dealership so they can put a new button n it cost me $315 for the part n the labor...why should I have to pay for something that the majority of all vehicles have come standard or another way of opening it.
I had this problem where the button in the trunk went bad but I had monkeyed it with a 3$ door bell button from Home Depot and using that. I read solution somewhere here on the forum.
Yep, the rubber cover that protects the switch deteriorates pretty easily and then allows water to get in there and eventually the switch fails.
