To showcase the performance capabilities and aftermarket potential of its innovative three-door coupe, Hyundai has teamed up with ARK Performance to transform Veloster into a sleek and sporty rally car. The ARK Performance Veloster will be unveiled at the 2011 SEMA Show with a custom twin-scroll turbocharger increasing its horsepower to 210HP and a bright green and flat gray paint scheme to give enthusiasts a glimpse at Veloster's potential. ARK Performance's Veloster will be shown in the Hyundai booth between November 1-4, 2011 among other modified Velosters and Genesis Coupes.

"The Hyundai Veloster is an ideal car for enthusiasts with its distinctive design and dynamic architecture," said Ted Lee, owner, ARK Performance Inc. "At SEMA, our ARK Performance Veloster will bridge the realm between an affordable sports car and an extreme motor sports vehicle. From the first Tiburon, to the Genesis Coupe, and now with the Veloster, ARK Performance continues to uphold the torch as the pioneer of aftermarket performance manufacturing for Hyundai."

The ARK Performance Hyundai Veloster will showcase mechanical, interior and exterior modifications including an open wheel concept with aggressive fenders and Nitto tires. ARK will also develop Veloster specific parts to showcase the tunability of the engine and vehicle exterior.

ARK has steadily achieved an increased market share. Our company has broad*ened its product line into performance exhaust systems, suspension, and CNC machined products that are currently being distributed to North America, the Middle East, and Asia. ARK Performance has received high marks for quality manufacturing, which is demonstrated by our ISO9001 and QS9000 certifications. As our slogan suggests, the quality of our products directly contributes to the overall quality of performance. ARK Performance will continue to maintain its stance as a leader in quality, providing a satisfying experience for our customers.

Note: The reason why we mark the output of the engine so low was because we do not have enough information in regards to the engine and how much it can handle. More R&D needs to be done on track. However with the build going on with such a tight deadline. After SEMA we would be able to gauge just how much punishment the Veloster can take.

is that on stock internals? what did you guys use for Tuning? how did you guys do the alignment...the rear is fixed. How did you guys get a BBK on there with the inner tie rod being so close to the caliper?

Thanks!

The coilovers are coming in late next week. The BBK's we are planning to make some custom brackets and spacers to compensate for lack of clearance and yes, we dare not to touch the internals just yet. Since we got a pre production model, We are not allowed to drive this on the streets. Only on the track with Hyundai's approval.

ah ok...Tuning??? Stand alone? Reflash? larger injectors (or increased duration or pressure)

for the brakes they will seat further toward the top of the rotor then? Will the master cylinder hold up without too much pedal travel?

Stand alone. The safest route really is with the AEM EMS.

A way to get around the MAP signal error under boost is to add a one-way air check valve to bleed pressure at the sensing port of the MAP sensor.
Any point beyond 0 PSI boost,we needs to figure out a way to get more fuel enrichment into the engine. Maybe adding an additional fuel injector at the charge pipe in front of the throttle body and controlling with an AIC may work.

We have been talking to Engineers from Hyundai in regards to this situation.

As for brakes, we want keep the major adjustments to a minimal until we can find the best solution to this. Building a SEMA car is one thing. To R&D as you may you is another and it will take time.

Looks promising :)

i'm not a fan of the 5th injector...i know others in past have used a dual rail kit, but i'm un sure how that would work with the GDI.

Sucks that its a mechanical pump...runs off the cam right? I would think that you could increase the duration of the injector.

I know Cobb won't even touch the Gen Coupe.
Though they say it's due to lack of demand...

eeeenteresting.

we dont need Cobb...we have PowerAxel and Seoulful Racing:D True korean companies that have been tuning Hyundais for a long time.

since the coupe...poweraxel has been setting up dealership all over the country. Beyond Redline is a company that does it and there are many others. **** some of the companies do dyno days and will tune a whole buttload of coupes in one day! SFR has also had dyno days.

dont worry they will jump on in no time! they probably just need a car of their own to work on. IIRC the Siemens based turbo ecm was easier to get into then the Delphi 3.8 (yes Hyundai uses mulitple companies for the same car...although i think they are starting to stray away from that) The Veloster is Siemens based, i think...i tried looking it up but cant find it anywhere. It would be on the ECM though, if somebody wants to peak at it.

Xan...almost every single motor that uses direct injection has some sort of mechanical pump to up the pressure.

as far as cams are concerned i dont really see an issue with having the pump.
