Suggestions for 2014 Veloster

When rear seats are folded down havethe cargo area floor completely flat. Have the front passenger seatfold down flat for hauling extra long cargo. See Toyota Matrix orPontiac Vibe.

Have hatch door meet the floor so thereis no lifting to get cargo in or out of rear cargo area. See ToyotaMatrix or Pontiac Vibe.

Eliminate turbo front grill rectangularlicense plate dock. Unsightly when there is no front license plate.

Eliminate interior door closing handleson front doors. Have closing door wells, like the driver door, onpassenger front door to allow easier access to window and door lockcontrols and eliminate cockpit clutter.

Add Heads Up Display.

Heads up displays are several hundred dollar options on BMWs, they become standard kit on M5s and such...and you think Hyundai would offer it on the Veloster before they offer it on the Equus or Genesis?

Yeah HUD setup isnt gonna happen even though Pontiac did use it in Grand prixs and stuff at one point. Only other cars besides the bmws i know are vettes that have it.

Mirror should be part of the tec package in the US, the seat facing forward is a nice thought, but if you remove the headrest slide the seat forward and lay the seatback down it basically does the same thing. I like the idea of being able to sit in the rear hatch area, but it would comprise body stiffness. I never understood the complaints about the door handle, although they should make all the buttons in the door light up. My suggestions would be stronger tweeters and better XM sound quality. Headlights could be brighter. Instant mpg indicator. Ability to unlock doors with the remote when the car is running or the opposite door is already open.

I like Enzo's ideas and in no way do (or would) they turn the Veloster into a Vibe/Matrix so I don't get that twisted (and sarcastic) logic. It's Enzo's very first post...nice welcome for him folks. He just pointed out that Vibe/Matrix do a few things better than Veloster and that's an honest opinion. Just because the Veloster presents some blind-spot problems and a Blindspot Warning System as used on the Cadillac XTS would be a great option, it doesn't mean I want a Cadillac, does it now? The flat rear deck when seats are flopped forward makes perfect sense and more like a 2-seater for those who prefer. The Veloster rear-deck is artificially low because there is no spare tire. If the tire were in there the deck would be about 3" higher and at least more level with the liftgate sill. That high sill is what gives the body more rigidity and prevents minor rear-end collisions from damaging the hatch itself.
After driving Velosters for 9 months my honest assessment is that the biggest improvement would be a thinner A-Pillar for better forward visibility in turns.

The segment for the Veloster in North America does not come with active BLIS or radar cruise systems. Only a handful of cars offer both forward and rear sensors with autopark capabilities. Fewer offer active stopping and lane departure systems.

Get realistic, till the costs on such items drops substantially they will not even bother offering them on a 20k hatchback.

Hyundai did get a thing going with Broadcom specifically for sensor/camera communications, and I remember seeing a tweet of Sam's suggesting they were looking into blind spot detection for the V. I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to implement these technologies at a decent price point.

Better suspension damping (tired of wheel hop over irregular surfaces, along with ABS activation under normal braking on uneven roads), HID low beams, improved infotainment software, better shift logic (pointless using manual mode as it does what it wants to do anyway), retuned NA engine for at least 150 hp, adjustable light sensor for the auto headlights, and lastly, a better-sounding engine/exhaust, one that sounds less like an economy saloon.

Oh, and a better horn. "Beep beep" doesn't cut it.
