62 and guilty! You see at my age it's important to keep a two-handed death-grip on the wheel while I'm rushing home to change my Depends. And while I'm here does anyone know how to cancel the turn signal? Look for me, I've rebadged with "Grand Marquis Brougham", carry my Walker on the rear bumper and got Florida Vanity Plates which read "gassy". Take THAT you young whippersnappers!

Most of the drivers I run into around here are older and/or women. In a week I may see 10 Velosters, 1 or 2 of them are driven by a younger aged group (I'm 23). Since having my car for 6 months now, I've only had 3 other Velosters high-beam/wave/peacesign/nod some sort of acknowledgement lol.

It definitely is not an age thing. I am older and have had a mix of waves from same age, older, and younger. It's a matter of those who are aware of their surroundings and those who are not -- especially the texting and talking ones. Yesterday I pulled up to a dirty orange Veloster just so others could see how nice a clean Veloster looked -- never could get the dirty Vitamin C to look over -- too busy to notice anything, including how dirty their car was.

Same here! It drives me nuts.. Ive had a Wrangler, a Corvette and a Motorcycle... All vehicles where acknowledging eachother is practically mandatory... If i wave and they dont wave back, I can't help but mutter "Douche Bag" under my breath. lol...

Those all have dedicated communities and a very small niche in the market. The Veloster has a very diverse group of buyers. The car appeals to young, old, male, female, or anything else you can throw in. There will be a lot more non-enthusiast drivers than the other way around. That's why forum wide car meets work well.

At my dealership they actually told me the average age of people buying this car was around 50, and also female.

I've seen a few where I live, but I'm usually the main one around.

Lol also, I was at a stoplight and a Boston red V stopped behind me, I gave him a wave with my rear wiper and he waved back.

    Haha lol'd...

Upstate ny, in my local "group" or whatever you want to call it. (I hate being part of any certain "group" of car people since i go to alot of the subi guys meets, and a few other buddys groups of modified cars) either way, we have 3 veloster with kids, ie me, 21, 22, 19 years of age and i saw a few other vs that waved in my area...some chinese kid my age.
I usually only wave if it's another modified car, like hids, or no badges, wheels... other wise i assume they're just driving about their own normal business

I bet you wear a hat too ! Iv'e always told my daughter, "don't get behind a car driven by an old man wearing a hat they drive soooooo slow" Now I are one...........NOT
The V wave will grow on some and others will remain oblivious to it. I get it all the time in my Wrangler (ya know the real one not the wanna be hummer stretch Wranglers) there is definatley a community out there for them but again not all are up on the respect, their loss.
Age is just a number really, my last birthday everyone kept saying wow 60 your old. My comeback, 60 is the new 40 for me...........as long as I can still put on my skates to play hockey, do my SCCA thing and continue volunteering in my fire dept I'll never get old.
Oh yea and keeping trendy by buying the latest and greatest Sporty Looking Economy Car with my head turner V........Life is Good

The respect V owners have for each other

The other night I was talking to Tohn and we both see the respect V owners have for eachother. Since I became a V owner whenever I pass a fellow V owner there is always some sort of signal of recognition. It's cool to see that people take pride in driving the V. Just thought I would start a thread to say I love being a V owner. Also I would like to say add KDM society on facebook because Tohn is doing great things for the KDM world.

I've a red V; a couple of days ago just saw yellow (nice)one; imediatelly crossed my mind how cool would be to see 20-30 Vs riding
along to each other from one place to another, to meet in a restaurant or nice a place, just for the fun of doing it. Instead of HOG, would be kind of VOG

Well, in the UAE there are not many V owners, but kind of curious if this happen somewhere else.

    Cheers,
