HELP! Odd warning light not found in owners manual.

Okay forum folks, need your help. I have a Turbo/Manual/Ultimate Pckg with about 8k miles on it. When I got in the car today after lunch and started it up, I now have an odd warning light in the odometer readout window. It is an overhead image of the car, just like the one you might see if you had a door open, except it doesn't show the door being open and it's right in the center of the window. (when it's a door open warning, the little car image slides to he left of the window and 'door open' appears). So, just this little picture of a car that I can't make go away and everything seems fine.

    Thoughts?

Make sure the trunk is properly closed.

I have seen this and in my case it was the rear hatch (or trunk I guess you call it in the US ) It seemed closed but opened it and shut it harder and it went out.

Even in the states it would be called a Hatch... I've always been a sedan owner so I keep referring to it as the trunk. But yeah make sure you properly closed it and it should go away.

In Australia we would call it the "boot" in a sedan. No idea where that comes from, trunk I can understand from the old days when it actually would have been a real trunk

It's a 'boot' in the UK, too, so it's probably from the whole colonisation thing

"Blinker fluid is low" ...thanks for that reminder, Boots. I refilled my Blinker Fluid yesterday and noticed my Horn Belt was loose! I'll have it tightened-up when I get my Tires greased this weekend at Jippy Lube.

    Yes... boot not latched.

If that doesn't fix it, then it may be the muffler bearings or fetzer valve.

"Hey! It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads. And I'm gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State"

In that location it could be the Rear gear distributor bearing latch pin

The beast, sir, you've unleashed it

p.s.: Don't forget to rotate your headlights.. At 8k miles, you're definitely overdue to have that done.

Yes, this reminds me of a time when an old girlfriend of mine asked me to clean out her flywheel because she had a buzzing noise coming from her engine. I guess someone was joking with her at work, and she took them serious.

Being from Korea .. whatever it is that's loose, just make sure you use an adjustable metric wrench to do it up
