according to their FB page, the VT wasnt on the list of cars they were looking for. VT is "in the near future" according to SFR.

We will see who's first SFR or BTRcc.

I will be interesting to see how and what SFR/BTR find. The Genesis is tuned very mildly from the factory. A '13 2.0T Genesis picks up about an extra 20-30whp on SFRs basic tune. Id be happy if the VT got that with a reflash. That would be certainly worth the $500 or so they charge.

My 3.8 only picks up about 15whp from the same thing lol. Making power on a turbo is much easier.

I know this may be a stupid question, but what will a tune do to the VT's that need to have emission testing every other year? Will they pass? do you need to have it de-tuned then re-tune? 500 each pop?

I would say keep it safe and get a second ecu with the flash on it. Unless specifically stated as passing emission, but I'm still going to get a second ecu to keep the stock one for emergency.

A second ecu would be excellent for warranty issues.

Yes, if and when they offer one. The separate ECUs typically take almost another year in some cases. Great to have though.

Emissions shouldnt be an issues unless you get of the cats or mess with the sensors. Later custom tunes can also have the sensors and cats eliminated.

Here is some light reading for those interested. Basically, the the who/what/when/etc of the SFR tunes for the Genesis. Same basic principals should apply for the VT.
