Frozen windows and exterior lock button

Had the first real freeze in Minneapolis after a very wet day and my 2012 Veloster with Tech package did not like it.

I found the button to unlock my door very crunchy and am worried that in a harder freeze it may not work or may get damaged if I push to hard.

Also, both front windows were iced shut and would not open. This made handing the pick up numbers to the grocery person tricky.

My Elantra doors froze shut all the time, I hope the Veloster does not have the same problem.

Has anyone else had issues icing, like frozen doors, windows or door handle lock buttons?

I haven't gone through a winter yet with the V, but frozen windows were common on my Elantra. It's a pain but I consider it normal.

I've never had a car that was impervious to having the windows (sometimes locks) freeze shut. I haven't needed it yet in my V, but I used to carry around a deicer for my old car. Since you have the tech package, did you subscribe to Blue Link? It might be worth starting your car using Blue Link ahead of time to de-ice a bit. Where in Minneapolis are you? What color V do you have? I've seen a few around here. In fact, a couple of weeks ago, I was out running errands and I had parked WAAAAY out in a parking lot in a Byerly's to avoid the blind soccer moms in Escalades, and made a mental note to myself that its nice to have a car that stands out. In fact, I thought to myself, I will not see another Vitamin C Veloster today. My next stop...I parked next to a Vitamin C Veloster (base model, while mine is tech, but still... I had to take pictures).
