Veloster Concept Cars on Show at Sydney Telstra 500

As the Sydney Rep for the Armor All Auto Show [held in conjunction with the V8 Supercars Telstra 500] I have been negotiating with Hyundai Austrralia to display their 2 Concept Veloster Turbos at the Show - [these 2 concept Velosters made their debut at the Sydney International Motor Show] I am very pleased to announce that these 2 vehicles will be on display from 30th November - 02 December in the Main Dome complex at Homebush. If you are attending the event - make sure you drop into the Dome and view these cars along with a large collecion of Show Cars, Dragsters, Street Machines, etc - over 450 cars on show.Velostet Concept Cars on Show at Sydney Telstra 500-hyundai_veloster_concept_01_race_concept_02-1018-m_930x584.jpg

It's fine if you like your car to look like something from a Hot Wheels collection. Stock and clean is my preference.

Yeah I don't understand What's done here besides taking off a mirror, putting big stickers on and some wheels and spoiler thats way to big for a front wheel drive car. Plus I doute there's any engine work done besides an intake.

Im not sure why people aren't making wings that we would want to buy. Like a small duck bill wing or one like the wrx or a turbo wing for the na... All these companys wasting money on cars for no reason when they could be selling the community good parts

There are a lot of people who do nothing but spend lots of time and money on "cosmetic work" to their cars and call it "modded". I don't get that concept either. So... To each their own I suppose.

It's highly possible for that V to be highly modded and it might make some serious power... But we may never know....

Me personally for my own vehicle I've always like the "sleeper concept" as with my NAV. It's got my skirting kit on it so it looks subtly different from any other tech pack NAV on the road but it sure performs better than most since I'm in the 15's.

I think thats the WTCC veloster turbo, which if like the elantra GT WTCC car with the similar style paint job it should make around 300 hp

hmm hopefully, but it's worthless to show me a veloster with an engine swap or one that was sent off to a company for work where they can get ahold of the ecu software to tune the engine correctly. Any company can do that. I want to see the stock 1.6 with a bold on turbo kit they make and sell with a tune or reflash or access port that i can willingly void my warranty and get my V moving off the line. That company will be the one making tons.

This is not a cosmetic rally car but developed for Rally events in Australia - Hyundai Australia has signalled its intent to join the local rally scene, revealing the tarmac-tuned Hyundai Veloster Race Concept.
Developed in Australia by the specialist team responsible for the local ride and handling tuning of Hyundai's production cars, the Veloster Race Concept has been engineered to meet all FIA and CAMS tarmac rally competition requirements.
Hyundai Australia took a Veloster Turbo base car, stripped it down to its body shell and rebuilt it to withstand the rigours of rally racing and to satisfy CAMS Australian Tarmac Regulations for the ‘Modern’ category.

The team behind the Hyundai Veloster Race Concept says the versatile car requires only minor modifications to be eligible to compete in the Australian Production GT, Australian Rally Championship or Asia Pacific Rally competitions.
The Veloster Race Concept teams a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a six-speed manual transmission, and features a stainless steel hi-flow exhaust system.
Recaro carbon seats and multi-point three-inch seatbelts lock the driver and co-driver in behind a Sparco race steering wheel and an anti-glare dashboard, all of which is contained within a CAMS-/FIA-compliant roll cage.

Four-pot 355mm brakes are fitted to at the front while the rear scores two-pot 300mm rotors. Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo tyres wrap around 18-inch Team Dynamics race wheels at the corners.
Other features unique to the rally concept include Project Mu competition brake pads, Kevlar high-pressure fuel lines, DMS four-way adjustable suspension, Super Pro bushes, and a lightweight carbonfibre interior.
Hyundai Australia marketing director Oliver Mann says the Veloster Race Concept is a demonstration of the brand’s local in-house engineering and technical know-how at its best.
Hyundai says the Veloster Race Concept is being studied for competition, with the manufacturer to make a formal announcement of its rally plans in 2013
