As far as I can remember it was a steel space saver. The boot is quite deep.

More thoughts on the car .. It looks very solid not mention very low to the ground ..

Main question I have is whether to put a fullsize license plate on the back or slimline ? Clearly the latter on front but lot more real estate on the back black area than I thought ..

    Nac - yes I did ..

Congratulations!!! I actually paid extra for slim plates, as I thought the front would look better. I never considered that you could have a small up front and a bigger at the rear. Would you have to order a replacement plate later?

I had a bit of a think about the plates. I just ordered custom plates. One of each size in black.

Thanks guys .. I gave a hint a while back at my choice of colour hopefully all will be revealed in a few weeks !I also ordered custom plates nac .. Bit worried the colour of plates won't match actual shade of the car but well see .. Black ones should look awesome on your white V ..

Ah I bet you got my first choice of custom plate just before me. They came up available on the first screen but then came up not available to order.
I might get tinted windows when I get the car. Should look great.

PLATE CAUTION...... Make sure the rear plate & holder/frame does not come down too low and trap the exhaust under the plate! This will trap heat and a few in USA states had the rear of the car melt and/or paint blister & discolor. Ours were supplied with "Veloster" frames with a slight size difference in size from the front-back plates. Our plates are the same size just these holder were different but some dealers installed them switched. My state I can only have 7 digits so my plate is "VELOSTR". Love the car.

That said, it's great to see & hear about your Velosters. Can't wait to see more pic's from you all

Thanks for the heads up bx .. I've notice in some of the review pics they have used full sized V plate frames over slimline plates .. which looks pretty silly not to mention potentially cause the same problem you guys have had ..

So I think I'm just gonna have my plates mounted clean on the body ..

Your lucky having 7 digits thats a nice plate ! We are limited to only 6 digits here ..

That normal should be fine. What happened here was the wrong plate holder hangs too low or some areas have temporary plates. The exhaust hit them and heat was trapped. Just wanted to inform in case anyone gets a plate frame or holder to make sure it won't block it.

Glad to see you get the spare tire like Canada, (they also get heated seats) we just get a pump and a can of goop to seal a flat.

Do you get all the colors like green, yellow & orange? We get interior choice of Gray, black, or Red w black seats. Funny the small changes Hyundai makes from country to country.

We get all but grey. With the interior only black in both models.

Funny enough I am a Mazda salesman in Brisbane (I'd say suburb but then you know where I work ) that is currently in negotiations for a V! Unfortunately my choices of car means it's very unlikely I will have one waiting in the wings for me. I'm going for a Sunflower Veloster in the up spec in Manual. Would LOVE if someone knows where one is so I can tell me dealer to bring it in for me

Hopefully I'll soon be on the road in a V, my first new car after never having a car newer than 95!

Thanks, funny enough I think it's Nunawading Hyundai. I've sent an email to my dealer regardless who is now looking there and keeping an eye out elsewhere too.

Hopefully it won't be too long until I'm in it!!

    thanks for your help
