Spare tire for 2013 veloster turbo

If you want a spare for your Veloster Turbo and your car is not a family car, just buy a stock wheel and a lower quality tire. It fits in the hole where the kiit was except that it makes the floor of your trunk about 3 1/2 inches higher. Since I doubt most of the turbos are family cars the loss of a little trunk space is not a problem. It is an over $700 fix since they rip you off of an OEM replacement wheel.

I am going to buy a 16" donut for some other car. Sounds like a Sonata Turbo spare is the way to go. Now just to find one for a reasonable price...

Does anyone know if this will fit?

2011 2012 2013 Kia Optima EX 17" Spare Tire Kit w Jack Rim Tools Wheel | eBay

I know the description says "For vehicles using 17" wheels" But this spare is actually a 16" wheel, if you look at the tire size it says 125/80/16. Also the 2011+ Kia Optima has the same bolt pattern and even says "high positive offset".

Depends what their high offset is. Anything higher then 49 wont fit. The steel wheels I had from my 11 Elantra were 52 offset and they didnt fit on my VT.

Well this is annoying.. All I want to do is by a 16" donut that would fit on my car. Why is this so hard? Nobody tells you the exact width of the wheel or the exact offset, so it's a total crap shoot.

Any luck with locating a spare for the VT? I am about to just get a full size tire, but would prefer not to lose the few inches of trunk space if unnecessary.

Just talked to my dealer and there isn't a spare tire kit for the VT in the US yet. Not even listed in development. Real bummer.

The 2013 Sonata 16" donut spare fits the Veloster Turbo just fine - I have both cars and test fit the spare from my 2013 Sonata Limited 2.0T onto my Veloster Turbo front axle - no problems. So, I went to the local Hyundai dealer and bought the donut spare kit for the Sonata and put it in my Veloster - in the spare well. It was ~$270 and comes as a kit with a foam insert, jack, lug wrench. The foam insert needs to be cut down if you want to use it or your trunk floor will be elevated 3 or 4 inches. I cut it down with a regular wood saw and the trunk floor is about 1 inch of being flat - can't really notice it. Why the dealers aren't smart enough to suggest this is beyond me. If you simply ask for a Veloster Turbo spare kit you will be told "we don't have one".

It will be very close to flat - in my post I said ~ 1inch, it will be a bit less if you don't use the foam insert at all - which would be easy to do as the jack and lug wench could be wrapped in a cloth to keep from rattling and fit in here and there in the well.

I just called my dealer in Pennsyltuckey and they said the only spare tire kit they have is for the 2013 Sonata is the Hybrid model not the Limited 2.0T. Do you have a Hyundai part number?

Sorry, I didn't keep the box. I simply went into the dealer's parts area and asked them for a donut spare that would fit a 2013 Sonata 2.0T. They came back with the prepackaged kit and I bought it.

I've seen them on Ebay for around $240 for wheel and tire
