Hope someone can help with this question. I've read in several places on the net that the Injen SRI will not void my warranty. I spoke with my Salesman today who in turn spoke with his manager and they are saying that it may not void the Hyundai warranty but it might void the extra "life time" warranty that they give on their vehicles. Can someone comment on this please as far as the Hyundai warranty goes????

When I took my vehicle for an Oil Change they said it wouldn't void the warranty as long as the "modded" part didn't cause the problem.
Thanks! I just did some more reading and this was a big help too and very very interesting!!

I read that some experience a performance loss from the Injen SRI. Any personal experience on this?

Typically a SRI gives better top end power while a CAI gives better low end power. So at low RPM you won't notice much of a difference. SRI is also supposed to give a better throttle response to a CAI due to pipe length. However that is all in theory and might vary car to car on how it effects the engine. Ive heard people say that an SRI can move the powerband further up. Their is just too many factors such as engine bay temp, weather (temp + humidity), engine bay layout, pipe diameter, and etc. Ive never installed either one but this all just information ive read over the last couple of years. Id be interested in actual numbers from people who claim to have a power loss due to an aftermarket intake though. Needless to say what drives most people to these mods is the change in sound the car will produce.
As far as warranty goes as mentioned in the blog the dealer has to prove that the part caused the failure. I got lucky at my dealer in Canada, the dealer manager, sales rep and service tech that I met the day I bought the vehicle all told me after market parts were alright and would not void my warranty. However some aftermarket mods if not done correctly could result in engine failure such as messing with an ECU too much, messing with turbo boost, and so on.

Worse case scenario is in a hot summer day, stop and go traffic, or red light. Hot air = thin air = low oxygen. I had SRI on my Civic Si before and it was very bad. Red light start-up would stall for a couple seconds. Hence eventually I moved on to CAI. CAI has its own problem however. Houston gets flooded all the time and when the intake is lowered, it increases the chance of getting your car flooded. I know because my Civic was flooded that way lol. Not so funny when you were in that situation of course.
