Finally nice to see some advocacy for matte paint.

I am so torn on this now! So for me it's either matte grey, elite white, or ironman silver...

it is human nature to be afraid of what we don't know, and to be very skeptic of changes. matte is not HARDER, it's just different.
if you are worried that you don't have a garage, i suggest to get a car cover. it is a must for me whenever i am in garage-less residence.

Ummm. This article is from a company that wants to sell you their REALLY expensive matte paint care products. Consider the source.

my first thoughts, exactly. but a bad reputation is bad for business.
they are already known for their products to BS consumers. Hyundai already acknowledges the brand.
and when i think about it, they know more about matte paint finish than anyone i know here.

so as with anyone who tries to sell me products, i could either believe them or be very skeptical about it.
i chose the former because they only stated the things from what i already think i know about of the subject.

So I just got the matte black vt, and I want to plastic dip the Hyundai and turbo logos a matte black. Will getting plastic dip on the matte grey finish harm the paint?

Tape it out and cover what you arnt dipping with paper/plastic to prevent overspray. Problem solved.
But if you do get some on it it should peel right off.

Now I just have to plasti dip the emblems matte black and the wheels gloss black with some sort of blue highlight to match the interior, at least until i work up the courage to drop about 1k on nice rims. Maybe i should break it in first. :P

Well, I'm going to try out the Matte Grey! (she's in the process of coming to me) I don't have the best access to covering her (no garage) but I'll get a quality car cover. I can wash her regularly...but...let's just say she gets wet, because I'm 23 and drunk me didn't have the brain to wipe her down. I have heard rumors of brown spots that don't come off easily. Also, If I'm in some kind of rush for any random life reason...Can she just be given a quick spray down and air dry? Long road trips across the country a few times annually, I want to be able to stop halfway, quick spray her down to get the Ontario salt off and go. I know it'll leave regular water spots but can it do permanent damage?

I had a run in with some brown spots from well water near my house. I left it out front and the sprinklers went on overnight. I saw spots all over my car and started to freak out after I washed it and they didn't come out. I decided to try and use the Dr. B's sealant and it worked but those didn't get baked in by the sun either. They just kinda air dried over night.

Well that's fairly scary...there's a lot of precipitation here and I have to leave my car outside. I'm starting to think I might not be able to handle this paint job. I'm military, I go away for weeks at a time and if a wind goes by and blows my cover off (prairies, it'll happen) it'll be out in the elements for however long I'm gone...I think I may need to reconsider. I don't know about outside of Canada, but here there's that extra paint protection warranty. I got that, would it cover damage from that do you think? Also, how long does the Dr. Beasleys kit last? Or at the very least the sealant.
