It's okay, I'm heading back there in a few hours, I've been wanting to buy a GoPro for a while and FutureShop has it on sale, going to price match it at Best Buy, just need a Future Shop flyer.

this is the first time I hear "vitamin c" popping out for the VT.
so those colors are confirmed, and the other colors were not necessarily denied (unless i am missing something).
maybe there's more to come. late availability, perhaps?

I found this AWESOME matte paint guide that was just recently published less than a week ago. Check it out. After reading this I may make the jump to matte...

I bet the publisher came across our worry since there's a pic of a VT in there.

i've jumped on the matte ship since the beginning.
i don't necessarily believe people that it's hard upkeep.
just because something is different and new makes it hard.

Honestly, I think the only thing that's a negative is repair issues and the inability to (as easily) mask minor damage that does occur.

As far as minor scratches, there was a link on there which states that on a matte paint, scratches would be less apparent than in glossy. This may offset the need to have to "buff" them out. Major ones would be a different story obviously and would probably have to be repainted.

I think I might call the local Maaco shop and see if their company repaints matte jobs just in case.

Valid question, and here is my take on an answer...
I'm taking the high road, I'm being optimistic not pessimistic
Therefore I will continue to believe what I read on the Hyundai Think Talk, and I will not spend my time doubting
3H2H1 = THREE HONDAS TO HYUNDAI ONE = 이것이 제 첫번째 현대 될 것이다

A PICTURE BELONGS HERE, PLEASE LET ME HAVE THAT, PLEASE...

it's human nature to fear the unknown. and right now, very little is known on matte paints, as compared to regular paint.
matte paint is like less than 1% of all the cars being produced right now.
but i am being optimistic and open minded. i would like to try it first hand so i can give first hand opinion about it.
that is if it comes down to that and my other choices are not available.

Hey Force (I know, wrong thread lol), any chance you and the VT will be out and about in Markham again tonight? I'm at Victoria Park and Sheppard and would love to see it in the wild and maybe have a listen to it.

I'm not a huge car buff and (yes I'm sure someone will flame me for this) I do sometimes go through those automatic "touchless" car washes. the BMW guide says that automatic wash places are a no-no, but do you think the newer "touchless" ones fall into that?

i wouldnt expect a good job from Maaco. find a shop that paints Hot Rods or show cars if your gonna look into it.

If I get the matte I plan on staying out of those touchless car washes. There could be some of that "wax clearcoat protectant" crap leftover in the pipes from the last person who used it. Over time I'm sure that would damage the finish.

I'm almost scared to use the manual sprayers at the carwashes for the same reason...

I'm thinking maybe just using those on a rinse cycle after blasting it on full power for a few seconds to clear out any glossing/wax agents. Even then, there might be waxing agents on the walls of the manual washes that could splash onto the paint.

Then if I use those, I do a hand wash every once in a while. This is a tough decision.. so many variable and uncertainties. It's almost not worth it, but it looks so good lol.

How is Hyundai's track record for paint quality? It may not be difficult to take care of a high end matte paint job, but we need to keep in mind that Hyundai probably isn't putting a top-of-the-line paint job on this car simple due to the price of the vechicle.
