    Questions from a perspective buyer

I'm considering purchasing a Volester Turbo in the near future, just trying to decide on transmission, color, and package. But first I have a couple questions for people who actually own the cars. My car will be used used as a daily driver, but I plan on competing in autocross locally and doing multiple HPDE's. I'm assuming that a set of tires will fit in the back with the seat down from looking at it, has anyone verified this? Looking at tires, the 215/40 has a pretty pathetic selection, however I can get the new Dierezza ZII in a 225/40. On a stock ride height it doesn't look like that should be a problem, but also wanted to verify that. I'm looking forward to testing out the manual, the auto's paddle shifters impressed me, but still had more delay than I would like. In my other car I have had problems with transmission heat when manually shifting the auto or holding it in gear, does the VT have that kind of problem or does anyone know if it comes with a trans cooler from the factory? Also, do all of the cars come with the headliner graphics? That, and that it only comes with black leather seats where the only things I disliked about the car.

Put brides in like me. With the seats down you can fit all 4 tires no problem laying all 4 flat. I'd go manual no matter what. Silver, black, white, or blue in that order of color. I also do local auto x

There are no issues with the 225/40/18 tires...several forum members are running that rubber on their Vs with no reported problems.

No transmission cooler because the automatic has lock-up in gears 4th through 6th, so there's no torque converter slip and heat above about 40 km/h in normal driving. When you manually change and hold a gear it can slip under load in gears 4 to 6 so this is something you ought to be aware of if you autocross. One of the reasons I bought the Veloster is that it comes standard with leather which I find more comfortable and more durable than cloth.

If you’re at all interested in having fun with the car and using it to its true capability, DO NOT get the Auto slushbox.
I’ve driven both and the auto totally ruins it.
As for the tire question, here’s mine on the way back from the tire shop after getting my Blizzak snows mounted on a spare set of rims.

Shawn makes a valid point since the OP did say he (or she) plans to autocross. However since the Turbo will be the daily driver, the key will be whether that commute is a grueling hour-and-a-half 15mph-average crawl like mine. If so, the manual would totally ruin the car...for me anyway.

Bob:My commute is only 20 minutes of highway driving, so that wont be an issue. I just worry about how heavy the clutch is. The only stick I have driven regularly was an 88 Corvette, and the clutch is super stiff. I have a bad knee which has given out on me in that car because of the pressure on the clutch, however I have driven a couple newer cars that were pretty comfortable, so I know I can do it in the right car.
Shawn: That looks a little tighter than I though, I will still need to have my track box, but I should be able to make that work.
Cbrmale: Most of what I do is low speed Autocross (under 70mph), in my current car this is all second gear but im thing with the V I will be in third most of the time. Since the lock up is only 4-6, how does it handle heat in the lower gears, and is there any slippage with the auto in those? The leather seats are definitely comfortable, with my last car I replaced them with suede because of how hot they got in the summer and sliding around in them on the track.
Demarioli: What tires do you use for Autox and do you drive to events on them or cary them separate? I would love to go with aftermarket seats, especially ones that allow for a 5 point harness, but I plan on staying in H stock for a while, so that isn't allowed.

Not sure if the clutches are the same, but in the NA Veloster the clutch is really soft. Being used to driving a 2006 Mustang, this is way softer. Hurts my leg to drive the Mustang now.

Clutch is pretty soft on this one. Softer than a mini cooper S

Another vote for VERY light clutch. Lightest of any car I've ever driven.

I use the same specs as stock and drive on them as well. I burn through them quick and theyre only 50 $ a piece online. Only change Is z rating for anyspeed. I have the base so I have 17

Plus the last inch of play grabs the clutch on the 12s...it's weird to launch it without taking off jerky

Clutch is really light... It's actually my first manual car, but I've ridden motorcycles for years. It's light enough it took me a long to to get used to the friction point, used to having more feedback in my hand. After getting used to it, it's fine though.
