Just picked up my orange VT - and the headlights are mismatched

I was very lucky, and an orange VT AT w/ Ult was sitting at the dealership in Pittsburgh - it's exactly what I wanted. When looking the car over, I noticed something.



The left headlight is the base Veloster light, and the right is the projector Turbo variant. The dealer scheduled a new one to be delivered this week and I'm taking it back to have it installed this weekend.

Has anyone else noticed something like this coming straight from the factory? It looks so silly at night with only one set of LEDs...

Moral of the story: check everything over twice, I guess.

LOL that is hilarious, I would of flipped out on the dealer if this happened to me... I mean cmon, YOU ONLY HAD ONE JOB :\

I'm okay with it as long as the light is replaced promptly. I made sure every person in the dealership had seen it and approved it and I had a part order taken care of before taking it. It also provided a nice bit of leverage.

I would venture a guess it was a port repair. The original may have been damaged during shipment and repaired dockside with the wrong light.

This actually sounds like a logical explanation, the headlight may of crack/broke, but do you think they ship extra replacement headlights with all the cars? Then this would mean someone else got screwed over and didnt get their replacement headlight

I'm pretty much the only modified blue v in pittsburgh and youll be the only orange turbo so far so ill keep my eyes out for ya!!

What is also funny is you just just made me compulsively go outside (in the dark) and check my turbo's headlights. LOL

If it weren't the kind of "mistake" that is so trivial to replace, it might have been cool to keep it that way. It could have been a rare collectors edition like the stamps that accidentally had the wright brother's plane printed on one sheet upside down - they are now worth millions, or something :-)

LOL!!! that is friggin funny as hell...you should ask them if you can keep the "wrong" headlight so you can Ebay it..they can't sell it as new anyway. I'm sure they won't let you becuase they will have to senf it back, but it would be a good way to compensate you for lost time...

i would inspect the side with the different light maybe it was in a fender bender and they tired to fix it up quick and thats the only light they had

When I worked at the big Toyota plant here in Ontario, there were alot of really odd mistakes like that made and many not caught until the car is rolling out the door. No clutch in a MT car, wrong radio, wrong wheels, etc. When you see 300 of them pass you during your shift, they all looked the seem even if something was wrong lol.
