Final FMIC kit!! finished it up today with final brackets.

Here is the final setup. the FMIC now sits level. I am going to look at making some type of ducting for even more cooling efficiency to cool the bottom half of the intercooler more directly. Based on the testing results right now it is working plenty fine, I would just like to get every ounce of efficiency out of it as possible.

It is kind of hard with this car and a front mount to get all the air to the cooler since there is only 5" from the bottom of the crash bar to the opening on the grille.

I sent off the design to the manufacturer today and should be able to get kits rolling out quite soon. Unfortunately, I can't sell them on here because I am not a vendor but I figured I would share with you guys the results of the kit I have been working on.

The brackets I designed actually work out quite great and hold the cooler very stable to the crash bar. I also pushed the cooler a bit closer to the driver side, still obviously can't be centered as you can see from the couplers.

nice work! intercooler inlet pipe passes under the engine?

is there anything to keep the intercooler from sliding left and right on your intercooler? I think a good idea would be a replacement crashbar to bolt the intercooler on and possibly have it in front of the crashbar and fill the hole grill

The hot pipe is under the engine.. I thought about a crash bar but that adds a lot to cost and would void most insurance since it is not oem. The core is plennnnnty big.. any bigger would have way to much volume and add a ton of lag.

Working on getting some good data logs and a dyno soon and compare to a local m/t vturbo that is stock.

Preliminary logs show that the heat soak problem is worlds better and the iat vs. ambient temps are reduced.

Doesnt seem to introduce any noticeable lag from the past few days it had been finished. Going to look at increasing the efficiency by adding ducting to bring more air to the bottom puff the cooler..

There is only 5" of opening from the bottom puff the bar to the bottom opening in the grille.

The brackets prevent any side to side movement of the cooler..

that looks great. sad that you cant sell it here since you're not an autojew vendor. probably would cost more than any potential profit you could make.

    :slowclap:

Kudos on a job well done. Certainly looks like a well thought out design. Now for the scientific proof of the benefits vs Stock.

That is most definitely An awesome job. looks really clean in the pictures. is that a blow off valve in those pictures? Would it be better to have it shipped or pick up? Can't wait to hear more about it

I am in Michigan now, so picking it up would probably not be an option

yes, the thing with a purple top is the blow off valve.. So far, working great! sounds really nice also. not TOO loud but has a little whistle too it but not the annoying high pitched sound of the HKS.

Nice job man, the whole setup looks great.

Did you ever get those dyno charts?

Also, will the FMIC come in an anodized version?

Heat soap is dramatically reduced! And intake temps are also lower which is very nice. The short pipes help keep the spool close to stock.

Here is a comparison between a stock mt ultimate vt and mine in the same trim. Keep in mind the stock car was on 93 and mine was on 87.

The fmic will only come in the aluminum finish initially but I am working with a third party to offer a painting service before they ship out.

The above graph is also with cai and muffler delete!
