Hey everyone! I signed up to this forum just to learn more about the Veloster. I am currently looking into picking one up. I found a 2013 Veloster RE:Mix with only 53XX miles on it. Not sure if I'm going to pick it up yet or not.
I'm going through a replace my ride program here in LA and they are giving me $4K for my POS 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix. Unfortunately, I need to pick a car that meets a certain set of standards and MPG is one of the most important ones. I really wanted the VT but the MPG on it doesn't match the requirements. The RE:Mix does. So if it all works out I might end up in a RE:Mix.
I have owned Korean cars before. I owned a 2006 Kia Spectra SX and a 2010 Kia Forte Koup SX. loved both of them. I hope this community is as tight as the Forte one was. Looking forward to meeting new enthusiasts and possibly joining any meet ups.
Welcome to the community! We have a great group of people here, some of them are a little cooky but aren't we all. I own the non-turbo base version and have for 3 years loved it, 74k miles and counting.
Also be sure you update your location in your profile - link in my sig
Hey guys, just wanted to update my thread here. I did end up getting the Veloster afterall. I am a proud owner of a 2013 Hyundai Veloster Re:Mix Edition in Sprint Grey. I have had it since october now and I love it. I wish i would have gotten the turbo one, but that once did not qualify using the program that helped me get into this car. I am still happy though and i get constant praise for my car. The color is what people love the most.
I will post a few pics once i have a chance. Not that you guys dont know what it looks like lol.
Welcome congrats on the find! The Remix in sprint grey is actually pretty rare as there were only around 2k of them made and the sprint grey paint is a pretty sparse too! I too have the same thing! The remix has the best of both worlds (apart from a turbo ) and has the awesome wheels that IMO are the best looking out of them all!
Thanks reggy66. Yea, I have seen quite a few velosters in my area and at school but they are either the turbo models or the base models. I love the color. I bought it with a manual trans so it keeps me entertained on my drives to and from work/school.
Oh man... I love mods.. I'd like the Carbon fiber hood and hatch, I'll be doing a muffler delete (hopefully soon) and I want the AEM intake. Lowering springs and HIDs. I'd love to do a Turbo bumper conversion just because i love the bigger grill but i might just paint over what i already have. It will take a while on account that i pay for my parents mortgage. (they have been down on their luck lately) I also plan to hand this down to my sister when she is a senior in HS. I have a pickup truck that I am working on so I'll probably drive that until I fonosh my engineering degree.
Sweet choice, OP! I suggest keeping the mods mild, as this is a pretty rare car, especially with the color choice. The wheels alone demand a really high price on EBay and forums such as this. Shine that baby up and it will be awesome in the California sun. Enjoy!
What's up everyone.... I haven't been on in a long time... Just wanted to see if this place was still active.. My V is in the shop as we speak.. I was rear ended.. I moved out to Eastvale now.. So if anyone is in the Norco Corona area let me know.
Arghh! Car accidents suck, but hopefully, like me, you'll get back a nicely repaired car free of squeaks and rattles and won't notice anything different. I'm thinking you are lucky now that you had the paint finish that you did rather than the matte finish because it will definitely be easier to match.
Yea it sucks... And I miss my Veloster.. I'm thankful for having that color too. I trust the shop that its at. The damage wasn't super bad but still. Hopefully I get back into it soon.. I'm waiting for the supplement to be approved.
Finally got my car back last saturday... I had them paint the front bumper to look more like the VT.... Yes I'm jealous lol.. I had them powder coat the Re:Mix wheels gold (some of you might not like it but it's ok I still like y'all) and I got them wrapped in Hancook tires. Also had them paint my emblem and tint my tails.. They ordered the Megan Racing exhaust and it will be in mid April. Can't wait.
This is probably the best compliment my car has ever received lol thanks man!!
