Newbie in Az.

Just picked up my Veloster yesterday. White with style package.

I had been waiting for a Scion iQ that I ordered. It was to be in on Oct. 1st, but Toyota delayed the launch yet again. I can't wait any longer and decided to explore other options. Saw a commecial for the Veloster, so I decided to check it out. I really wanted a DCT, and since they will not be out until next year, it was a deal breaker. But after thinking about it, I decided to take a manual.

So far I really like it. Seems like a great value. Hopefully it is reliable. This is my first Hyundai.

?? DCT have been out.. My wife has a Triathlon Gray / Style / DCT we got it on the OCT 1.

There are no DCTs around here anywhere. There is not a single dealership that got one. They were allocated, but never released from the port. The one i was looking at has been at the port since August. No telling when it would ever get here. I have been without a car for two months, couldn't wait any longer. I was told that the delay was because the MPG rating was not what it was supposed to be for the DCT.

So far the manual is fine though. I usually don't keep cars very long anyway. This is my third new car this year. Hopefully I like this one and keep it for a while.

So far, I really like this car! Its fun to drive, has some nice features, looks great, economical and should be reliable. Not to mention a great value. I think this is a nice addition to the already strong Hyundai line up. I am a Toyota guy, but not anymore. When it comes to small cars, Toyota and Honda have lost my interest.

Lots of great colors on the Veloster. I am just partial to white and light colors, especially here in the desert.

After 2 weeks of owning, I am still very happy with my car. So far, I have not noticed one single problem. Its nice looking, fun to drive, has some nice features and is a great value.

Typically, I only buy Toyotas. But last time I bought a 2011 Jetta TDI. While it was a nice car and a great value, I have decided European cars are still not for me. I had my heart set on an iQ, but because of all the delays, I just couldnt wait any longer. So here I am in a Hyundai. I guess things happen for a reason, because I am very happy with this car.

Toyota will have to make some big changes before I go back. Just being reliable is no longer enough. The only small car that has hopes for me will be the Prius C.

Hey BretAZ, I'm just curious what dealer you bought yours from and how was your experience? I'm in the Phoenix area and I test drove a manual Veloster at Tempe Hyundai a few weeks ago. They seemed pretty nice over there, but since they didn't have a DCT I didn't talk to them about pricing, etc.

I really want a DCT as I currently drive a white manual Saturn SL and am looking for a new car, though driving in Phoenix's stop-and-go traffic, I hate having to shift gears all the time lol.
Also on the white color, does it have more of a "sheen" to it? I noticed that on Hyundai's website they put it like that, but I've never seen one in person.
