Lightbulb How to install bluelink / homelink / compass / auto-dim rear view mirror from sonata

Everyone has been wanting this so here's what I did.... I took the original instructions that came with the part and made 2 notes on pages 8 & 9.... This what I know.... without running a new wire somewhere else and staying with what under the map lights, the compass & auto dim features which depend on a 12volt IGN the closest on happens to be from the original mirrors coupler.... the only problem is it only supplies power to the mirror when the light is on so the compass & auto-dim features only work when the lights of the vehicle are on. Now someone willing to take down the headliner could tap into the sunroof motor's 12volt IGN but that would take a lot of work. Everything else works fine following my notes... bluelink & homelink.... if anyone comes up with something better to get to a always on 12volt IGN (that is when the car keys on) then let me know.... Here you go!!!

Looks good! Where did you purchase the mirror? And what was your total cost?

If you have the tools in hand, it cost me $250.... I have heard others find the mirror so I imagine it depends on the mark-up per dealership. It is sweet though not having to worry about my garage opener separately now... going to try to get my home security setup on the other 2 homelink buttons tomorrow. Also, since the auto dim mirror works at night, it is so much nicer drivng in the dark without all that glare kicking from behind into your eyes. Well worth the upgrade to me....

Can you take some pictures with the unit on and maybe demonstrate the dimming if possible. I want to know what the compass looks like and how the dimming looks.

the dimming feature would be hard to show because it best works at night.... basically you can turn this function on and off anyway... what it does is sense the the light hitting the mirror and darkens it to absorb and not reflect more light thusly not having the person behind you blinding you with his aftermarket HID's on a ford escort...... ha ha. it is really nice and you can turn it off if you don't like it... personally now that I have it, I don't know how I lived without it... kind of like DVR's and Satellite Radio....

Fantastic! I am SERIOUSLY debating about getting something like this. Soon, I will probably have three remotes attached to my keychain.

1st: The remote for the gate opener for my complex.
2nd: The Hyundai door lock/unlock remote since I don't have the keyless option.
3rd: I am thinking about getting a security system for my Veloster and this would add a remote.

If I got this mirror, that would remove the gate remote. If I got a security system with all the options, I could then get rid of another remote......that would leave me with only one.

I don't find it online anywhere, but there is now a Veloster specific part number available for models with Bluelink. 2V062-ADU00 - it now is also being offered as a Port Installed Option for $250.

Installed the official one for the Veloster today. Paid $250 for the kit at my local dealer. Comes with detailed instructions and all parts needed for install. Two power taps are required at the fuse box.

If anyone is interested in seeing the instructions I can scan and post in a new thread. Overall install is easy as long as you have the right tools and patience. Maybe earlier adopters can update their Sonata mirror install to work similarly to this one.

I'd like to see the instructions, as I have one on the way, in addition to any suggestions you have personally.
