Dont know if its already been posted, but here is a helpful video for all you guys that want to install HIDs and are a little hesitant to install them. The video is from the guys over at Xenon Supply. Xenon supply used my car for the video and it is a great kit.

Kick ass video, my man. I was wondering how hard it would be to install HID's.

    Thanks for sharing.

It's much easier to, have you looked behind the housing where the low beam is? There is literally no room lol

On a serious note, once they make a kit that includes the adapter (as opposed to cutting the plastic), I would most likely by it.

    Great video! Very helpful.

One question, did they use a relay harness for the fog lights as well?

I have already DIY installed & re-installed the HID headlight several times. The first time was 6000K but the color & brightness was no good as my pervious car’s 6000K. Then installed another 6000K light bulb (different brand) and still no good. Finally tried the 8000K light bulb and it’s the one I want. So I totally got 3 times installation experiences and wanted to share with the others who wants to install it DIY too. So u don’t need to waste so much times. As I’m not a mechanic or professional automobile technician, only used simple hand tools and materials. Also don’t have a garage or larger drive way. Just DIY by myself one person only at my apartment parking lot. So I tried my best to install it WITHOUT removing the bumper and the whole headlight housing kit. Without cutting any wire. Below are some tips and tricks.

    - watch the two existing Veloster HID installation video on Youtube first to get the idea. But don’t follow the exact procedures and the parts.

    - u must have a small hand to access the driver side housing. Passenger side is much easier.

    - practice first with the high beam to get the idea. I mean to unlock & lock the holder and see how is it.

    - buy the canbus built-in type ballast and not the relay harness one (not the video installed one). So no need to connect to the battery, no need to attach extra canceller and no need to connect the wire between left & right side.

    - no need to modify H7 light bulb holder like the video showing. The rubber can pass through it using the plier.

    - think about the sequence first and follow the correct sequence to take out the wire, pass through the dust cover & the light bulb holder, insert back the wire.

    - drop some oil to the rubber hole while taking out the wire from the rubber. Also the wire can be inserted back. No need to cut the wire unless u have the tool and the new connector to connect it back.

    - take out the fuse box cover first to get more space behind the low beam.

    - apply a thin plastic tape to stick the light bulb to the light bulb holder first before inserting to the housing.

    - must remove the original holder and don’t damage it. U need it to fallback in case of any accident.

    - just found the 90 degreed nose bend plier may help a lot to unlock & lock the holder. I didn’t use it before because I just discovered it after the installation. Someone can try and tell us whether it works.

Hope all the above can help some inexperience guys like me to easier & waste less time for the whole installation. Here is a good DIY video for installing HIDs from Xenon Supply-90-degree-nose-bend-plier.jpg

For the fog lights, can we use 880 or it's essential 881 ?

I honestly have never seen a completely new wire being ran to the battery for constant 12v for HID's, and i've done a few bikes and a couple trucks. Is the veloster different power wise? can the stock wiring not handle the voltage for the HID's? Most kits and plug and play to the stock headlight connector
