Well this is somewhat frustrating, the 2012 cars have an update to the head unit for:
Non-nav headunits
Nav headunits as long as you have a DCT and autostart

Non DCT nav units have no updates, this has really ticked me off considering how half-baked the software is in the headunit, (Gracenote I'm looking right at you!)

It's too bad we have to go to the dealership for this, it would be awesome if they could do OTA stuff through blue link for something like this.. I showed up at work today thinking "Oh gee I'm early, that was a quick drive" Until I looked at my phone that was 15 minutes ahead of the clock in my car.

Even Ford will let both Nav and Non-Nav equipped cars to download the updates directly from their sites and then ship you the Navigation updates on a SD card if they are needed as well.

This is just pathetic Hyundai. Yes, I'm grateful for the fix.

Maybe I should get with my buddies down at the local Hyundai dealership and see if I can borrow that usb stick long enough to make a copy and post it here? For those that are upset they have to go to the dealer anyway.

And the update is done via USB... Had the update done on the wife's car yesterday and requested a printout of the what they did. it shows the picture of the USB and where to connect it to to do the update..

They performed it earlier this week when The Wife took the car in for service - now I have the "Veloster" script on startup vs. having the picture of the red Velo Concept. So, something more than merely the clock is being updated, just an FYI. Functionality seems the same - and I didn't really mind the clock losing a couple minutes a month (it's easy to reset). So I'm all "Meh" about it one way or another.

I had this done on my car as well. It's funny, they left the USB thumb drive in my car accidentally, had I seen this thread sooner I would have kept it and helped you guys out :P

Mine loses a couple minutes every 2-3 days, so I'm definitely happy to get this update. Hopefully I will get it done Saturday, and I'll see what I can do about obtaining a copy of the update =)

Planning on taking my V in this Saturday to get an oil change and the Clock TSB. I'll check with the service writer then and see what I can do.

How are you thinking this would give access to the startup img?

Since they changed the startup screen from the red veloster, to the veloster logo, there should be a way to go into the software and change it. I'll just have to wait to get the software to play with it.

Basically, the clock fix is a software revision. The screen changed because the Red V image is only on older (re: you can still access test mode) software versions. There is a program you can get that will allow you to reenable test mode and such, but no one has found how to change the startup image (which sucks because I'd LOVE to be able to have a customized startup image/sound).

As for grabbing a copy of the software, I wasn't able to get my V in to the dealership.... totally forgot that my g/f's dad and grandmother were coming to visit for the day lol. I'm off this Wednesday (11/14).. definitely taking it in then. I wanna get the oil switched to synthetic, get the radio update and she desperately needs a bath. Sorry for the delay guys, but I hope to be able to let you all know something by Wed. =)
