Had wiper arm replaced. Rattle not fixed. Must be the (sh!tty) design of the assembly itself. I even shoved some foam where the spring might be hitting...no luck. I'm hoping this will go away in the spring but I highly doubt I'm the only cold weather V dealing with the wiper rattle.

Thanks Velos510 for the info...I will investigate to see if the persistent buzzing I get at 1500rpm is from that piece. On another note I've finally located the source of my other interior rattle which I thought was the passenger sunvisor. In fact it is the headliner directly above the sunvisor. When closed the sunvisor vibrates with the ride and makes the headliner rattle. With the visor down the noise goes away but can be generated by pressing the area with my hand. It's possible that the vanity light is the cause and I will investigate further on a warmer day. Any other noises seem to be from what I have in the glovebox, console or door compartments.

I took car to dealer to diagnose problem w/rattle I was having in same area. First thing tech did was remove both wiper arms and then we took a test drive over some bumps. Rattle still present. Wiper arms eliminated from problem. He then removed entire exterior cowl. Test drove car again over same bumps. Rattle completely gone. So its the cowl (on drivers side for me) which was causing issue. Dealer did not have "rattle kit" in stock, so they ordered it and will come in 1-week. Plan is to install weatherproof rattle kit pieces across entire width of cars' cowl on bottom of cowl plastic to change resonance of these pieces and prevent the "bounce" effect of the plastic on plastic as well as the cowl bouncing on windshield. Hopefully this will solve the problem in this area. Will report back in 1-week.

I'm going nuts over this. When I flip the wiper arm up, the noise stops. Dealer either didn't replace the arm (I don't really have any way of knowing) or the new one makes the same noise. It's hard to believe they all make noise when it's cold.

I think its probable that when you lift up your wiper arm, the arm in some way is touching or pushing on cowl plastic which is affecting the rattle in a positive way, meaning stopping it. You very likely have the EXACT SAME THING I have and the only solution is to take off the entire exterior cowl and install a rattle kit. That was my diagnosis and, if you're patient, I will report back in 1 week. I can tell you, however, that my tech completely removed both windshield wiper arms down to the bolts, and the rattle was still present. By you lifting the wiper arm, all I can surmise is that some sort of pressure is being applied to a piece of cowl plastic preventing the rattle when in fact, its the plastic, and not your wiper arm, which is the issue. Bear with me and I'll report back progress and if it works, will tell you dealership and tech's name to request as he'll already have experience doing the job to complete satisfatcion (hopefully).

I put in a appt. request so I'll mention that when I go next. I also put in a complaint with Hyundai and they said they were going to look into it and get back to me within 3 days. Maybe they check service records or something? Thanks for the insight.

Hyundai updated my case and has since spoken with my local dealer. There's a part on order (door, rattle kit?) to address my creaky glovebox. No mention of the wiper assembly. Called Hyundai CS and the guy basically just read me the emails I had already received lol.

Where is the dealer you've been working with?

Antwerpen Hyundai on Route 40. "Mike" is the tech. Dealership and tech are excellent and have been patient. I have high hopes and so far, everything I've thrown at them they have resolved. This rattle is next on my list and they have already ordered the rattle kit as I've indicated. Once everything is worked on, I'll report back.

You guys need to turn up your stereo lol.. on another note, all the trays and compartments in the velo need some sort of pad or felt. Does anyone make a felt tray padding kit for this car? I will be the first customer..

My V has 1,050 miles on it and was purchased a little over 1 month ago. The noises make it seem like a 5 year old car. Shouldn't have to turn the radio on to have an enjoyable drive. I've tried foam tape all around the glovebox but it didn't fix the creaks.

Winter is making all the creaks come out louder than ever, lol.

My seat creaks like crazy on the left side when turning, or shifting... or... anything.
My glove box rattle only needed some foam tape.
My dash rattle picks up now and then... but not all the time.

The car seems to flex quite a bit at times.

My sunroof started the other day. It's a symphony of rattles in this thing. Never had a car make this much noise.

Ugh I just tried to take mine in today for the sunroof creaking. It's creaked every day for the past month and its so bad that I have to close the sun shade if I don't have the sunroof open because even the stereo turned up doesn't drown out the sound. Of course it would stop when I take off work and try to take it in... Grrrr

My dash rattles sometimes, but it really doesn't bother me that much since its not right above my head or constant...

I would trade it in as soon as possible. Who could possibly live with such distraction? Seriously.

BUT -- have you tried listening to music while you drive? It might disguise those annoying squeaks. I know I always have either the radio or some kind of music playing when I drive and I never hear squeaks or rattles. I have never driven without something playing -- have you?

Many of my cars I drove with no music on. When your engine makes great noises there is no need for music
