    Angry Heat/Air Flow Direction controller.

I was wondering if I was the only one with this problem...

I like to have my air/heat in the feet and defroster position, but when my mom is in the car, it irritates her contacts. When we switched over to feet only it still comes out of the defroster full blast. I took it in to get serviced and the mechanic said it should not be that way, however when he called Hyundai, they told him it was normal to get seepage. This is not seepage, the air is coming out full blast through the defroster.
In other words, there is absoulutly no diffrence in defroster with feet AND feet only... anyone else have this problem??

It sounds like a vacuum pod or electrical issue with the vanes that direct the air to it's designated location. I've seen this issue before in many other older vehicles but not with anything new. Hyundai should have a fix for it.

That's what the dealership mechanic said, but when he took it apart and everything looked okay, he called Hyundai to see if there was anything he might have overlooked. That's when they said it was normal in a car like mine. I just don't know if all Velosters are like that. Would you mind checking yours out and letting me know?? I would have never found this out if it wasn't for my mom complaining about her eyes. lol.

Are you sure it's coming from the front defrost and not from the vents. If it's coming from the vents close the vents.

I always have it on feet and front defrost and never noticed. I try it again tonight and put it on full power feet only and see what it does.

On my way home I tried turning off the defrost and just keeping it on my feet and I would agree with you it's as if I set it to both. I can't turn off the defrost either.

I guess the solution is to keep her out of the car.

Total flop. Yup I'll just keep my day job. Nothing to see here folks, just move along.

I tested it when I got home today also, and it works as expected and just like all the cars I've had in the past 20 years.
When on defrost it's 80% at the windshield, 20% at your feet,
When on feet only it's 80% feet, 20% at the windshield.

It never does turn OFF at the windshield for the obvious reason that if it's cold enough to have the heat on, it's cold enough for a light fog to get on the windshield and keeping some warm air to it keeps it cleared.
