Satellite radio freezes within 10 seconds of starting the car

Hey all; I searched through the forum for a similar issue but didn't find one.

My satellite radio doesn't work unless I switch to it as soon as I start my car (after the red V disappears on the screen). It will continue to play satellite, however the screen will freeze, preventing me from changing channels or selecting anything else on the touchscreen (this includes using the channel switch buttons on the steering wheel).

I can un-freeze it by switching to another audio mode (radio/CD/USB etc) but then I can't go back to XM; it won't respond to me pushing either the XM button or going through all audio options on my steering wheel.

Anyone else having this issue? Should I just bring it in to get checked out? My car is a few weeks old, but I know I'm not through my free XM subscription yet.

Sounds like a trip to the dealer is needed. My XM works flawlessly, except, I do have an issue with the radio wanting to change stations in XM mode when I turn the wheel or hit a bump, sometimes.

Sounds like you need to take a trip to the dealer as well and get the channel changer replaced on the steering wheel. (Unless the entire thing is one unit), either way get it fixed.

I have an appointment on Saturday for that and the TSB for the Manual. My thinking is there must be a short in the clock spring. They'll have to figure it out.

BTW, my dealer is awesome, they give loaners & are willing to work with you even if you are modding your car.
