I didn't know it was possible to install a remote starter on a manual car.

Who is doing remote start? Dealer or audio shop. What's theprice and what brand unit is that being installed?
No its possible. Just not smart. We make our customers sign a release form saying we r not responsible for damages to car or property .... its happened many times that a car gets left in 1st gear and remote started ... hopefully people r not walking between car and object when does ... not good
it is a local audio shop that does mostly high end cars. its a compustar.

What model car u have ?
Did they say anything about a module needing to be added to interface with cars factory security system?
the vehicle in question is in my sig, and is in the first post of this thread. base 6 speed. yes, i will need a module to interface with the factory alarm.

2 way or nothing.
Since the dealer said they could install one, it just wouldn't be an all in one remote (since I have PBS) I passed.
If I'm paying the 500 they asked I'd rather go get a better unit then what they were offering.
Like Compustar, last 2 cars have had one and never had issues.
it's not my first manual car with a remote start.
my OEM remotes will work, but i do not have to carry them. the compustar remotes will handle the lock/unlock/trunk and start.

If you dont mind sharing....how much did you pay including labor? My wife wants this on her new 2013 V DCT w/style package.
Thanks
i had a python 3000 ft,one installed on my wifes 2013 turbo automatic, the vt has all the packages ,and she loves it, done at the dealers accessories store ,actually thrown in ,on the deal when we bought it, but they said they charge $350, for it we did not like the blue link ,,it never seems to work ,,i am glad i did not extend the free three months they give you ,,we have owned the car for only a month and a half ,but she loves it![]()
i still do not have my remote start. i never got a definite install date nor was i ever told when the remotes would be in. at the moment VelosterLady in western MA is inquiring at the dealer for an install on a 6MT. i would pay up to $400 to have it done. i may have to put it in myself.... and i will when it gets warmer out![]()
the cost would have been $300 installed, cut me a deal since i made my way out there and he did not have the remotes i wanted. i know they are busy, they are scheduling left and right on their FB page. i am assuming i get the cold shoulder because my car is a manual.
nice vaius, glad you and your wife love your V. ANYONE will toss a remote start in an auto though.

I was just quoted $400 installed at my dealer (Southtowne Hyundai) for my 2013 DCT with style package (non push-button start). I am also going to call a local auto alarm/audio installer to see if I can get it done for less.
That's for aftermarket or for a push to start add?
