I test drove a new VT tech yesterday and noticed the head unit displayed the FM station call name and song being played. My 2012 NA Tech does not do that except for XM. Does anyone have an original 2012 with RDS. I want to make sure its not an issue with my head unit

i think it's a US vs canada thing. I haven't heard of anyone in Canada with a 2012 V that has RDS working. I'm in toronto and i know many stations here u can get RDS from my friend's CRZ and another friends sentra both have RDS and get most Toronto radio stations

Thanks dragynslayer. I wonder if anyone in Canada was lucky enough to get a head unit with RDS. It would be like the back up sensor. Some were lucky and some not. It was a pet peeve of my wife's no RDS so when I seen it on the VT I thought mine might have a problem.

No RDS on my VT. Which is fine with me, cause I don't listen to the radio, outside talk radio...
If there's a chance I hear a song that I want... I just use Shazam on it and boom.

But, now that you're mentioning it...I want it...

As several members have pointed out, it is country dependent, if you don't list country then if you have it or don't is a useless piece of information. US owners tend to have it, CAN owners do not.
