I'm pretty disgusted with BL myself. I don't have Nav and I have MT so it's not that great anyway but I figured I could use it to track maintenance and whatnot.

At 2500 miles, I get a note on my screen that maintenance is required and I should hit the BL button. I hit the BL button and it goes through some automated setup and hangs up on me. I go to the website and the mileage is all wrong (which is weird- the app on my phone is spot on). So I shrug it off.
at 5k miles I get the note again so I hit the BL button. I get an automated message that I should... go to the website... wtf? So I go to the website which STILL says I'm at 1400 miles and have no service needed.

That being said, I can lock and unlock the car with my phone... so there's that.
    Variable and lionrohrs like this.

I too find BlueLink to be pretty much useless. I would not pay for this nonsense. When my trial is done, so shall I be with BlueLink.

The blue-link is fairly useless if you have a smart phone. The data on-line is always weeks behind and what is there is fairly sparse (how about letting my plot miles accumulated/mileage on a daily basis, how about telling me how long I idle each day, how about allowing me to go back and find out where my car was on a certain day GPS, max speed)...the data is being generated but not tracked so what use is it? I too will be letting my trial expire...Siri as bad as she is sometimes does a better job...

I was annoyed that I couldn't activate blue link using the voice button on the steering wheel, even though it all seems tied together anyway.
Testing the turn-by-turn this past weekend for fun, I actually found it to be pretty nice and the voice recognition and search was surprisingly good.

I find that the myhyundai website tie-in stuff is not great, and not supported with any currently updated browsers (or at least not chrome) - but I like the phone-app features and the insurance discount.

Overall, I'm going to keep at least the second-tier package activated. I don't think I need the TBT directions though.

Ok I didn't want the be the first to slam BL but...I've given up on the whole thing. Site does not recognize the VIN even though it's been checked and rechecked I don't know how many times. Dealership did zero, zip, nada for set up. Concur it should be much better than it is. We won't be renewing the "membership". Having said that, we still love our Turbo Veloster.

Wow, lots of problems with BL for you guys. I have been lucky with BL. The dealer did the original setup for me and worked from the start like a charm. Remote start, unlock and lock, sending POI to the car from my PC, all the monthly reports, as well as the ECO reports, the daily route guidance I have setup for going to work come in every morning, the option to locate the car works fine. I also tested the GEO-fence and the panic alarm notification and they are instantaneously. Have not tried the voice text yet. I will renew for the middle package for sure.

And this whole problem is all related to the dealer doing a lousy job in prep and setup with you on this, ALL of these items are setup related, the dealers are a significant weak link that Hyundai needs to upgrade.

Well, they didn't explain it to me either. But I like to dig information, and click all over the place on the BL page.

So...You need to log on to BL page and do the setup needed for your monthly report and ECO report. I picked the 15th of the month for the monthly report, and I have my ECO report to be generated after every fill up. You may need to wait a month after the initial setup to get your first reports. However, I didn't have to wait since I set mine towards the end of the month, so I got my first reports just a 2 weeks after.

I don't have the webpage in front of me now, but once you log on, you will see a link just above the Veloster picture for the monthly report. Once you are in your monthly report page, there is a link for the ECO report. Follow them and you can set your options.

The monthly report just tells you a summary of how the different systems in your car are doing. The ECO reports how you are doing with gas MPGs and if you are idling too much, your emissions, etc...

Hope this clarifies things for you.

I can't figure out why I have 4 eco points but have only owned the car since Sept. 30 - I thought eco points were +1 every month you were over 30mpg avg?

Anyway - the latest iPhone app update makes it so you don't have to type your myhyundai password every-single-time to login. That's nice at least.

1 Eco point with every fillup (over 2 gallons) that has an average equal-to or above the "Community Average". I had about 25 or so points, all "deleted" when I let the BlueFink crap expire.

After it expires, what happens when you go to the eco-coach screen?

Thanks, VT. I'll play around with the web page more. A shame the phone app is worthless.

Anybody ever done a long-term comparison of the car vs real life? My gauge cluster display usually says I'm around 37mpg and my actual MPG is closer to 35. Anybody checked regularly?

It all works the same - it merely has " -- " in the place of your eco-points, and the "Community Average" number.

Yamichi: Mine is similar to yours with my 6mt turbo ultimate. I too hover around 37 (on hwy) but actually getting 35.8. This thread is probably the wrong place to talk about MPG's so sorry everyone. I guess I need to visit Hyundai and try to get this BL thing set up correctly.

Why do you say the phone App is worthless. You can do most everything from it. Have you downloaded the updates as well? Click on the menu and you get a bunch of other options you can do.

I'm sorta mystified as to the phone app "worthless" comment, it does everything it claims to do, and even initiates remote start for auto/DCT owners.
    I count:
    Remote Start
    Horn and Lights
    Lights
    Lock and Unlock
    Maps and POI
Car finder for where you parked
    Parking meter timer

I don't find those "worthless" at all, they're all very handy to have on my phone.
oh.. and there's an update as of this week in the iphone version.

Being able to stay logged in (or at least not type a password) makes the app at least more accessible, although I can't say I use it often.

Last 2 morning my auto-start did not work. My car is parked on the street in the open so not sure what's up with that.

I do find the phone app useful. Anyone know if what level of bluelink you have to keep so one can still unlock their doors from a phone? I THINK its the second level, not the first...
